Not me JUST realizing June 19 is a freaking friday. I swear to god USA Wrestling has full intentions on sabotaging themselves. JFC
They will realize their mistake when Spencer Lee switches bodies with Lindsay Lohan in the last 30 seconds of a match. Good thing Spencer will not use “My body, Lindsay Lohan skills!” as an excuse!

Only a week out now!
I was just getting ready to post the same. Getting psyched for what I feel is the best USA wrestling event - even better than Nationals. You get to see the best wrestling between USA wrestlers you can see. The best-of-three aspect makes a huge difference in removing the normal level of variance in results (wrestling already has the lowest level of all sports in a single event competition). And, best of all for us personally - it's easy for us to get to. A short drive to Newark, lunch at Hobby's Deli to carry us through the day and evening, a short walk to the venue and a quick drive home.

Balances out our six hour trips to and from State College for dual meets.

Tight match. I just don’t think Mach has enough offense. I’m not sure how he scores against Trent

It's matches like this that make people hate freestyle. Skinny Sumo.

11:57 with no real attempts at a takedown. Hidlay picks up a 4 and a point for a failed challenge as Macc goes for desperation at the end

Hidlay wins 8-3. And takes it 2-0

If you were there in person, you wouldn't hate freestyle.
There was a kid in the front row with a Penn State t-shirt.

In person, on TV, it doesn't really matter. It wasn't that no one scored a takedown, it was that no one really even attempted one. I'm not sure that Macciavello even touched Hidlay's legs in 12 minutes. Hidlay had a nice single but went for the step out/try to finish OB instead of scoring a TD.

It might not be exciting to most, but, those are two really strong guys, who have a lot of familiarity issues battling for a spot on the world team. It was exciting to me!

3-3 with :03 remaining and the guy winning hits a 4 it was exciting for me. Both matches were really close and had quite a bit of action

Your Mifflin county is showing. I couldn't remember if you are Ltown, Chief Logan, Indian Valley or Kish?
Which is a good thing.

Oh, I agree. I don't think wrestling is ever going to expand enough. Quite frankly, it's just not for everybody.

I will say this, it's pretty insane that two guys were wrestling for a spot on the world team in a small high school gym, which looked to have 20-30 fans. Also, they only had one camera angle available for challenges. The one challenge that happened was as far away as possible and there was no way you could overturn the call, as you couldn't see it well enough. USAW needs to do better.

P.S. I realize all of this was put together due to Final X falling on the date of Trent's wedding (after a schedule change by USAW on the FinalX weekend)

Had 150 or so people in the gym.

Indian Valley 1993 :)
If I had my choice, it would have been Chief Logan. I like the era of the small schools.
Charlie was coaching Chief Logan when I was wrestling.
Jim Rupp was reffing a Chief Logan match when a CL kid needed an injury timeout. Of course you can only attend to the injury not coach a kid during that TO. Charlie ask Rupp can you speak Spanish to which Rupp replied "no". Charlie proceeded to talk to the kid in Spanish. LOL.

Charlie Roselle had as big of an impact on my life as anyone outside of my own Father. He is one of those guys who clearly didn't give a damn what other people thought of him. Some of his personal lessons with me didn't hit me until later in life. He was one of a kind.

Charlie was inducted posthumously into the Mifflin County Sports Hall of Fame about six weeks ago.

They can probably wait until Sept 1 at the latest to wrestle it. Thats about 8 weeks out from Worlds. Staph is no joke as we learned with Askren
agree...but a knee infection? Does that mean there was some type of treatment to begin with to get it?

Staph on the knee happens in wrestling I wouldn't call it common but I know a bunch of people who have had it . Rooms get staph on the mats and it gets spread around
