I'm a day late starting this, but it could be good. Please use this thread to discuss the 2024 MLB playoffs, excluding playoff games involving the Phillies, which will be discussed in the Phillies thread.

Wow, Baltimore goes 0-2 against Kansas City, and is out of the playoffs.

Met - Brewers, game 2, is pretty good. The Brew Crew jus tried it up, 3-3, in the bottom of the 8th. The Mets lead the series, 1-0, so Milwaukee has to win this game or their postseason is done.

And the Brewers tack on 2 more in the bottom of the 8th, with a 2-run HR. 5-3, Brewers.

The Mets go 1-2-3 in the top of the 9th, so the Brewers win 5-3. As a result, the series is going to a 3rd game, which will be played on Thursday (10/3).

Padres defeat the Braves, 5-4, in game 2, and sweep the 3-game series. They advance to face the Dodgers.

The Padres are a hot team. It's a credit to the Braves that with all the injuries they suffered this year, that they even made it to the playoffs.

The scheduling for these playoffs is a disaster. The Yankees after waiting around for 6 days, will play Saturday, off day Sunday, play Monday, off day Tuesday.

There have only been two game 3's out of 12 series played, and the Mets have been involved in both.

I know I haven’t paid attention to all rules changes, is there no more required running in the baseline?

In the 1st inning of the LA-SD game, Freeman fields a grounder and tries to throw to 2nd for a force out. Machado clearly runs onto the green grass part of the infield and the ball deflects off him into LF. Floodgates open and SD scores 6 runs.

Is this now allowed/Blown call/non-challengeable?

Det-Clev should be a good game 5 with Skubal going for the Tigers. Liked they moved it up to 1:08, that's a nice lead in for the PSU game.

I have to root for the small market team and as much as I don't like the Dodgers, a Shohei Ohtani vs Aaron Judge WS would be something special to watch. Go Tribe!

Cleveland is my default go-to-team when my own teams aren’t involved. NFL and MLB both.

It was a great game yesterday. This Cleveland player loads the bases on a dinky infield hit that had eyes and the Detroit pitcher immediately imploded.
