An elite WR that is tall ... something I'd love to see on PSU's roster.

I believe I read after his class was announced that he would be the first to go. Wish i knew who said that. A poster who can foretell the future would be handy. Our usual posters have trouble foretelling the past.

True AOTBTS, I think everyone wants taller wideouts,
Not sure about national numbers, but at PSU over the last decade, maybe we just - for some reason - aren't a good "tall wideout" program.
In any event, everyone would probably be happy to see more contributions from the wideouts, regardless of size:

Since 2014 recruiting year, wideouts who have finished, or nearly finished, their college careers:

Wideouts 6-1 or less. Probably an even 50% (6 out of 12) of them that were significant contributors - and maybe Wallace and/or Clifford will yet get there:

I cannot imagine where this is all going in the near future. It's becoming clear that Congress will have to step in since the NCAA and the member institutions and their conferences are either powerless or unable to gain consensus on guardrails. The growing talk about Private Equity (see "Mark Lasry") actually buying football programs is a whole new paradigm in money procurement and payment. We are not far from college QB contracts far exceeding those in the NFL, save the few for the elite players like Burrow and Mahomes. We are also not far from a large majority of Power conference players declaring their "free agency" after each season, in essence playing on one year contracts until their eligibility is exhausted.

The only solution is Congress, where the will of the Courts and those who would challenge the status quo will be brought to heel. Not optimal but I don't see another way.

I have no idea what Congress could do. “College quarterbacks making more than NFL quarterbacks” might indeed be a thing in the future but that’s Capitalism 101. “Congress intervenes to keep private citizens from maximizing their earning potential” doesn’t seem to be a thing to me.
