May be a tough task getting her out of TN away from Vanderbilt, but since CB and the staff are getting an official visit anything can happen. Prime example Kate Harping. The need for a top rank PG will be essential in 2027, considering we have recruited them but injuries have taken their toll on them, McPherson and now Kelly. Just can't get a break with this position of need the past five years.

Providence Day star (Charlotte, NC)

arguably the top player in NC in a down year. Top 50 on 247, not yet ranked by On3 nor ESPNW

It appears that ND is pushing hard for the number one PG in the class of 2027 Kalenna Smith to replace Hannah Hidalgo. She is planning on visiting ND later this month, not sure if Carolina will be able to secure a visit or not. Would be a great addition to Carolina, but pretty sure her asking price is too steep.

This is why it is important for CB to go and talk with Steve, our new AD about more NIL money or ways to get more money for WBB.

I doubt we could or would prioritize pulling the top PG in consecutive classes unless the price was surprisingly low. I certainly would take her in a heartbeat but that money will probably be spent elsewhere in an ideal world.

Interested to see if we prioritize an elite post in the next class.

Currently Carolina has offers out for Jayla Forbes ranked 15th in 2027 post player - 6'7". (2). Jada Jackson ranked 18th in 2027 post player - (3) . 6'2". Khalia Hartwell ranked 25th in 2027 post player - post player 6'5". Number one post player as we already know is Caroline Bradley from LA., has committed to LSU.

after landing Toomey then Thomas (both highly ranked) our next cycle we went all-in for Serah Williams in the portal and missed, then all-in on Bjorn last recruiting class and missed. So yep I think a big is our top priority. (Bofia and Astakhova are great but likely not game-changers)

We do not know about Bofia yet. She is a legit 6'4" PF. What we do know is that CB stated that she was an elite rebounder on both ends of the floor, long, athletic, and a shot blocker. Some of yall posters said the same thing last year about TH and TQ and they both proved yall wrong. Yall stated that they would not see much time on the floor this year. I think Bofia is going to see a ton of time this year. There is a reason why she came in a semester early. BT better work her butt off this offseason on her foot speed, shot, conditioning, rebounding, etc. I think Bofia will take her spot if she does not.

2027 6-5 Center Lisa Sirgi visited UNC today

From Estonia, recently turned 19 years old

Her Insta:

Her reel today:

1777065401262.png

She has previously visited: TCU, GT, Miss Sty, WF, Mizzou, WVU, Utah, Texas, Baylor and Minn.

BTN scouting lists her as a 5 star prospect. I have no idea how their rating system works. International players are often left off of the traditional lists, but she is in an Arizona prep school this year so that may change.

She plays on the Estonian National Team (Sr team, not development team, similar to Queiroz for Brazil), but the teams is 35th in Europe, not good at all.

She was a 2024 NBA Basketball Without Borders Europe participant (30 invites; a talent ID program for international players in Europe) She earned All-Star recognition at the camp (top 10)

She would be a great addition if CB and the staff can pull this off, but the main competition will be Vanderbilt. Will be awaiting her top 5 schools, hopefully we can make the cut.

She is from the same place as Henri V that just played for our men's team. I wonder if we can get him to put a few good words about UNC both the academics and the Athletics.

Nice, pretty sure that Henri V present on the team this past season was one of the reason which she decided to visit. Let's hope she does confer with him on his time at UNC and see if it does moves the needle in our favor. Nice catch Jriv23.

Ben, help. Is there a recent list of projected rankings for the 2027 class? Maybe a top 25 or top 50. So many names are thrown around here and it is basically impossible to know what few names have significant cred. To make a leap from middle (15's or so), upward to top 10 or even approaching top 5, most of these names mean nothing re Carolina program's rising potential. With 15 scholarships allowed, Carolina presently has plenty of mid-level players. IMO only those with high asset possibilities need be considered by many fans. I trust the staff re prospect's potential capabilities. I do not trust posters re prospect value consideration and so many names thrown out. Given that most never having been seen by posters.
