Encouraging info, Wilson would be a great get - and give us a serious advantage for her younger sister Ashlee who is really, really good too.

I don’t follow this as closely as many but my sense is Suebert is more of a PG while Wilson is more of a SG even though they both are listed as a CG.

Anyone with a better understanding please chime in.
I think Suebert is a CG ( a 1 or a 2) with. Wilson a SG/SF ( a 2 or a 3)

Gopher board has a post reporting that Skim says Mya Wilson won't be going to Minnesota. Many observers had Wilson's recruitment as an Iowa-Minnesota battle, with TCU/OSU on the outside. So perhaps Iowa is willing to take 3 guards in the '27 class (Seubert, Wilson and new offer Sabus), which seems strange with potentially 1-2 more in the front court. With Iowa's roster and 5-in-5 eligibility, thought people were predicting a relatively small '27 class, and a bigger '28 class.
TCU has deep pockets, wouldn't rule them out. Fingers crossed it's the Hawks!

I view the recent PG offer as a low rent 3rd string PG offer. No inside intel, maybe based on summer workouts they realize they need an upgrade over the Knox county girl

guessing
I'm going to go out on the thickest part of a limb closest to base of a tree to say this is spot on. Another had commented that they may have the feeling they'll lose one after the season. Could be the same person. After playing as much as she did in D3 to her now maybe realizing she doesn't have enough to break into 2nd string and getting another 5th year, she might be itching for more PT again.

Jan has pretty much extended offers to 5'10" or taller lately. Thinking end of bench with possible potential (late bloomer). Her being #4 in CO with top offers from basically Top 40 NET teams at best and Jan coming in very late is all telling that JJ is looking to steal someone with weak links. Compare #8 (IA) NET vs Top 40+ NET could be enough to be a very late sway. Of course, if mins+stats+NIL is top priority, it's most likely futile. If she wants to play for a E8/F4 contender, I'd wait to commit late as possible or at least until IA plays UConn and Vandy to see how the results pan out. Is IA really a #6 or a pretender to it?

Santana Sabus (5'6" PG) (CO) (#4 CO) (pesky perimeter defender - rising CO bucket getter)
Kyle states notable offers from Kansas (#53), Colorado (#41) and Washington State (#269).
7/29/26 - IA Offer:

My take is that Iowa coaches have been watching these Colorado players closely, and offering what they have evaluated and like., regardless of other offers and ranking. What is it now, 4 Colorado HS offers this month?

Iowas in Destiny Manyawu’s top 4 schools along with Duke Oklahoma and Michigan
What a great compliment to Woliczko that would be if she lands at Iowa…… or is her Iowa Top4 listing similar to the Greenway honorable mention nod (Cam Manyawu MBB) as prior commentary had her as an OK lean?

This ends my updates on 2027 recruits.

Found no updates for the following 2 lists:
Best IA Interest Remaining:
Mya Wilson (In Top 4 and most likely Top 2 according to @o_AMAYS)
Nation Williams (Still some buzz here)
Destiny Manyawu (Spent her Bday on an UVisit to the Hawks. Don't think you spend your Bday with a team not high on your list)

Don't hear much on:
Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka
Khalia Hartwell
Harper Dunn
Brookeslee Colvin

Others I've already posted updates on today don't sound likely at least at this point. As stated by others with the possibly of our top core players hangin around for 3 more years, I also don't see a big class. Probably at most Jada Seubert and 1 more of the 3 listed above with interest.

Madeline Mignery (6'1" SF) (FL) 4 Star (#40 ESPN) 5 Star (#24 JRAS) (#25 PN) (#26 PGH) (#28 247S)
6/21/26 - Set 6 OVs: UNC, FL, LSU, Clemson, Stanford & IN
Doesn't specify a Top 6 List but it doesn't look the best for us.

Update:

Jada Seubert - committed, top player in Wisconsin her senior year

Mya Wilson - I put us at 50% or better, if rumors of Minny being out are true then we have a real chance. Edit: Boy was I wrong about Wilson, oh well, upward and onward.

Destiny Manyawu - down to four schools (Duke, Oklahoma, Michigan and the Hawks) Solid chance but the competition is tough.

Nation Williams - Hawks made her final five, she has four other officials. Still think UCLA, her Mom's alma mater will be hard to beat.

Sienna Williams - is taking an official, made her final six. Iowa, Utah, Colorado (home state), Nebraska, Michigan and North Carolina. No clue where we stand, solid perimeter shooting PF in the four out

Edit: Khalia Hartwell visits Iowa City for the Hawks vs. Clones game. After seeing how we develop bigs, she could be the next in line. Ava will be a four year player and Layla three year player next year. I could see Ava moving to a four and McKenna a three down the road.

Lost one and have another one added as still alive.

Khalia Hartwell (6'5" F/C) (SC) 4 Star (#25) (#18 PN) (#21 PGH) (#25 ON3RI) (#39 JRAS) 5 Star (#17 247S)

Mya Wilson would have been a nice addition but far from a critical loss IMO, Unless someone transfers out after the upcoming season Iowa is pretty well set at the guard spot for the next 2 seasons. I think getting a good player at the 4 spot is a much bigger need.

Agree with this. Think her Fury teammate committed to the Gophers is the better prospect. Still, would have been nice for Iowa to have a Minnesota presence on the team. Gopher state has a lot of good prospects, and Iowa has gotten their share over the years.

I see allot of info on 27 and 29 recruits but how does iowa sit in the 28 class? Is Jhaliana Guy still a strong possibility? She would come in just when the hawks would need some guards so that should help in recruiting her.

Another Miss for Jan......though not sure going to play for a drunk is a great decision.....Jan really seems to struggle recruiting right Minny now and there are alot of very good prospects up there.
Minnesota finally has a good coach that will be hard to recruit against. Lisa Bluder took advantage of the situation for years. They finally dumped state idol Lindsay Whalen who wasn’t cut out to be a head coach. Before that it was Pam Borton and Marlene Stollings, who Lisa also had success recruiting against.

Parents aren’t often the decision-makers for their college-bound children.
While I generally agree with this as a parent…

I wouldn’t tell my children where to attend college, I would voice my strong opinion as to a couple 2 or 3 programs that I would tell my children to stay away from

As long as he is still there, I would tell my daughter to avoid OSU

Jan can’t afford to miss on elite talent the next few years IF the objective is to elevate Iowa into that top-tier of programs capable of winning an NCAA title. She’s definitely aiming high, which I love. Just gotta close the deal on them.

Iowa needs a coach like OSU, TCU N. Caroline, Duke, UCLA, UConn and a few others that always get the players they offer.
Ohio St lost out on Iowa’s top 2027 recruit! So there is that! With the new eligibility rules it is very hard to assess whether losing a particular player is ultimately good or bad news. Best to just be happy and hopeful when you get a really good one; you can only play 5 at any given time and we should have some good ones for 2027-2028.

To be fair I’m not concerned about this. I think seubert is better than Wilson by a lot and we are deep at guard. If anything getting Mya Wilson would be nice to be able to get Ashlee Wilson who’s rly rly good but I’m much more impressed by Seubert than Mya Wilson. Hopefully we can land Hartwell and a forward to develop to help frontcourt depth. That’s more important

I watched a video where Jada and Mya’s AAU teams played each other this summer, Mya’s team was a much better team overall than Jada’s, Mya and Jada at this point in time are completely different type of players based on watching the game, Jada was more of a true guard, Handling the ball, perimeter shooting and occasionally driving wth the ball. Jada shot well from the perimeter and has a quick release. Mya made a living driving with the ball and had a pretty high finishing rate, She did not show much of a perimeter game in this particular matchup. I would give the edge to Mya in regard to the physicality with which they play. They also did not guard each other in this game.

Mya W is a very nice player. With the 5 in 5 we really have the SF position covered for several years. Journey was a top 20 recruit at that position before her injury and is showing huge improvement. Jocelyn F is very long and athletic she was a top 100 recruit if her jump shot comes around and Ella S is an unknown at this point but is expected to be solid. I agree front court depth is the area of most significant need.

Agree to a point, BUT lets be honest the portal changed everything. Yes we still need to recruit well, but its not the issue it was.

Link?

Nevermind, you have no proof.
Just excuses.
it was just sarcasm…. someone asked why anyone would let their daughter play for the drunk….. I was simply suggesting that a university as rich as OSU money might of been the factor

nowhere did I say definitely that was the case and you know that Mitch….. you just cruise the boards looking for arguments….. not sure exactly what your major malfunction is….. maybe mommy didn’t love you enough or something?

Now your post was "sarcasm"?

I wasn't arguing, just looking for proof when you suggested JJ got outbid.
