To be clear (for folks who may just be tuning in), those visits were scheduled several weeks ago. It's not like he just scheduled them after visiting Iowa.

And yes, all the experts seem to think it will come down to Miami and Iowa.

I think it is Iowa , Banks Kin and the other Guard cancelled visit and Ben has just shown what He can do with a PG and Iowa off the elite 8 with Ben is the hot ticket, He can be the Man at Iowa , Miami He is a Guy . I rarely feel Iowa wins these battles but that is Fran PTSD , Ben is no Fran

I think Ben is a big difference maker here. I can also see how Miami or another school could throw a large pot at him that would tip the scales. If he is in it for the money now we lose.

There is no reason Iowa couldn’t figure out a way to match another offer or be reasonably close if the kid really wants to come here. You press every big donor possible to pony up whatever is needed

Everyone is in it “for the money” at some level. Gotta make a competitive offer.

Basketball fit and relationship with the coach has always been the priority for CD, which Iowa wins on IMO. Staying close to home is also a big draw, as it is for most 18 yo kids.

That was before NIL. Now every kid thinks of money first and then on which team he might get to a national championship. You can't blame the kids but NIL sucks!!!!

Hasn't Ben said they put a value on each player and won't pay more than that determined value? Lets hope that valuation is competitive with what his market is. It would appear his market has gone quite up after the summer he had.

Honest question. Did you ever feel like you got any insider news that came to fruition? It seems like most of the time on the juicy stuff they’d say something like “we were hearing things behind the scenes but didn’t know for sure so didn’t share it” or the fairly obvious or assumed stuff was “as our subscribers found out yesterday…” It’s never felt I’ve missed anything of value.
