He is over 260 with another year of high school. Do the math.
Some reports I read list him at 245 to 255 lbs. Weights can get inflated. Campbell has a 6’5” guy who’s 275-280 playing end. Michigan has had ends that big. It’s a legit question for those who aren’t stupid.

I really didn’t ask for your crap sarcastic answer. Keep it to yourself. I don’t want to communicate with you. Nobody here likes your posts.

Nits, its a really fair question and I think you are going to get more opinion than answer. His high school lines him up on the edge a lot, based on the tape Tangwell was going over. The interesting thing about his tape. He is the biggest dude on the LOS and he was getting off the ball well before everyone else on every snap they showed. The kid is a lot quicker than you normally get at DT.

Profiles are not dated. 247 has him.at 260.

Players that big put on 20lbs the week after the season.

Huggins is probably our main NJ Recruiter as well, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's not a RB but rather a NJ kid at a different position.
I think you’re right. I just read that elsewhere as well. Could be anybody. Assuming we’ll find out today.

“Blattner chose Penn State over other finalists USC, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky. At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Blattner’s positional future is still pretty open. He could stay at defensive end and be a jumbo edge like Ryan Buchholz, or he might be someone who gets up into the 290-range and plays defensive tackle. Regardless of his positional outcome, Blattner has the tools to be a real player for Penn State. He has the exact frame you’re looking for from a defensive lineman.”

I guess it was a fair question after all…

Ryan logged an RPM for S Jonathan Galette - 3* from NJ. Might be who Huggins is hinting at. Galette's offer sheet has all the heavy hitters, FWIW so he might be flying under the radar a bit. I've seen other sites hinting that 4* PA Gabe Jenkins may be close to pulling the trigger again for the good guys. Defensive backfield is filling up fast.

Campbell & Co seem to be making some real noise in NJ again. A place that we never seemed to get consistent footing in over the last decade. But a place we truly need to own in recruiting.

Gibson, Segara and Dajon Talley Rhodes
Of all the uncommitted running backs we're recruiting, Gibson is the guy I want the most.

I love this scouting report on him:
6'2 205lbs.
Large and powerful running back that has a chance to be a bell cow on Saturdays with his contact balance, lateral quickness and pass-catching chops. Tends to hit the hole with authority and can find a lower pad level despite being a naturally up-right runner.

Bucholtz was moved to dt before he retired. He missed his last two years with an injury.

His 247 profile listed him as 20 lbs lighter than blattner.

Any idea when Bourque and the other top QB in the mix are announcing?

How are we doing with recruiting some 4 star or high 3 star LBs and D Linemen? What about Abraham Sesay at EDGE (PA #3 player rated 95)? Do we have a shot at him? Brandon Lockley LB (PA #12 player rated 89)? He is the #1 LB in PA for '27.

Mencl said he wants to commit by April. Insiders are reporting his visit to PSU was a game changer and we're as close as anyone. Bourque is visiting soon and we're the perceived leader. Whoever commits first. Everyone is hopeful we get one of them.

Sesay will visit but most think he is leaning ND. Lockley was on campus recently and seems to have the Nits at the top, but that one seems wide open because he's taking a lot of visits this spring/summer.

I just read we are in Sesay's final 6 but who knows especially with his NIL request/expectations. Duke, FSU, ND, Miami, and South Carolina are the other 5.

Hopefully the success we are having recruiting WRs will be the difference in landing one of them. Really excited at the prospect of having a top flight passing game.

'27 seems kind of weak in PA for LBs and D Linemen.

Iowa State was one of the worst jobs in college before Cambell took over. I mean Gene Chizik went 5-19 there and got hired at Auburn. Iowa State has practically no NIL and canceling a lot of big projects they had going. Also trying to recruit people to play in Ames, Iowa without offering them much cash isn’t an easy feat. I thought he did pretty good there with basically nothing to work with.
That’s fine and I genuinely hope he has the success Kraft promised. But you will have to excuse me if I prefer to see him actually coach a single game at Penn State before crowning him like so many of the other posters on this board.

For me it's wait & see. I don't expect domination by PSU because of this hire. However. I think 9-3 and possibly 10-2 is doable this coming season. Next season might be tougher given the departures of the seniors. 2027 recruiting class is critical. Have to bring in a class in 12-15 range to build up depth with a few being capable of playing as Freshman. If PSU intends to contend for the Natty in Campbell's first five years, then the portal will have to bring in impact players.

We should just put of a national championship banner right now. No need to play a game.

Winning 6.9 games a year at ISU is like going 15-0 at psu.

They should go 11-1 minimum. Schedule is super soft and I expect upgrades everywhere besides RB and DE. As long as Penn State stays relatively healthy they will make the playoffs.

Where exactly is Penn State weak at?

Secondary is absolutely stacked.

Linebacker room is way better this year than last.

WR room is best we’ve had in years

Rocco is an upgrade over Allar. He’s a senior and knows cambells system.

The starting tight ends are probably best in the country.

We beefed up on interior d line.

DE is a wild card with some of the young guys.

RB room is weaker without Kaytron and Nick but it’s not exactly like we have bums this year either.

People are sleeping on Penn State.

They have eight guys from last year’s team projected to be drafted in the 2026 draft and you expect upgrades everywhere?

Beefing up does not automatically mean better. That will be determined when games start. WR room is unproven in the B1G. TBD. LBs are bigger, but perhaps less athletic. Secondary is stacked as you said. Becht is a proven commodity. If all the cogs work together, it could be a good season, but there are a lot of unknowns.

Drew Allar isn’t really a loss.

Singleton was awful last year.

Drew Shelton was just ok.

Vega obviously a stud

Wheatley was good but Neal and Cooper are probably going to the NFL also. I really don’t see a downgrade there.

Dennis Sutton is a loss however if you read my post I expect DE not to be an upgrade it could potentially be but as of now I say no.

Kaytron Allen will be missed he was a stud in college but we have Martin, Peoples, Hansen, Wallace not like their exactly bums.

Tony Rojas is a stud when healthy. Also, Caleb Beacon the transfer from Iowa State is real good. Brezina, Ebel, Tatsch (probably spelling his name wrong) are solid.

Singleton was disappointing compared to Allen but not awful. He holds the school record for TDs and was a homegrown premier recruit that could have went anywhere in the country and he chose PSU. I can’t bring myself to ridicule him. I’m sure he wanted a better senior season even more than we did. I just saw a draft analysis video saying he can make a good NFL career out of being a third down back. Their strengths for him include, strong lower body, speed, ability to catch out of the backfield and good pass protection.
