This is becoming painful.
I don’t even consider this franchise to be the same one that I grew up watching in the 70s even though they have the same name and colors. To me, they’re like the new Browns. To me, that organization ended after the playoff loss in 1992. Since then, except for a brief window from 2013 to 2015, they’ve been one of the most pathetic, embarrassing and worthless organizations in all of sports.

Once again the bullpen pisses away another lead and the Pirates lose a winnable game. Nuttiness and Bumblington have to be the worst owner\GM combo in any major sport. It looks like Skenes has lost interest in pitching for this team, maybe the fact they gave an untested rookie that contract and not taking care of him first. I have no dreams of ever seeing this team be truly competitive in my lifetime with this management in place
That owner and that awful GM were made for each other; if I didn’t know better, I’d say that that GM must be the owner’s illegitimate son, because I have no idea how he still has a job. This is his seventh year as the GM and this team is again going to finish below .500 and probably in last place.

Kelly is annoying as well--he's way too calm--it's time to be pissed.
He’s just another new age managing automaton who manages totally by analytics rather than feel and what’s actually happening in the game. There’s just no accountability with either the upper management, field coaches or players. They all talk a good game, but anybody who knows baseball can see through their garbage. But you know what, that organization is great at building Miracle League fields, and isn’t that the most important thing? What a freaking joke.

Under control for next season as well, I like the potential in this deal, can't be any worse than what's going on, that's for damn sure.
Agree, very good trade. Too bad it didn’t happen a week ago they might have two more wins if so. I absolutely have to win tonight and tomorrow against the Reds to get back over 500. And they better get another bullpen arm in the next two days as well.

I could still see them trading Lowe, especially if they get swept by the little Red machine.
With O Hearn out until mid September, if they lose the next two, I tend to agree with you that maybe they should trade him for a young arm or bat and then move Gonzalez over to the second. They could then figure out if the other Gonzales that they got from the White Sox can maybe play third base for when Griffin comes back

I respectfully disagree.. This team is woefully short of power and Lowe provides a long ball threat-Triolo should be the one jettisoned. Sign Lowe 2-3 years, Griffin mans SS, O'Hearn\Horwitz at 1B, Gonalez/Gonzales splitting 3B. I hope Gonzales fairs out better than the other gem {Eisert) Buffoonington got from the Chisox.

Lowe's defense is frightening bad at times and will get worse as he ages--I'm all for signing Lowe if he's going to DH

The problem is, who wants Triolo? Same as all the Yinzers on social media who keep saying to trade Ozuna. Nobody wants either of those two guys. and even if they do trade him, what are they gonna get for him.
Yes, you keep Lowe if you can re-sign him, but they should’ve done that already. I don’t think they are so that’s why I’m moving Nick Gonzales to second

They won last night anyway and then if they do tonight, they’re right back in the mix so its not an option. Still need another bullpen arm, and maybe another bat depending on how long Horo Wise will still be out

I don't care what they do with Triolo or Ozuna, DFA them for all I care, they shouldn't be playing for the Pirates. Who is Horo Wise?

Murf Gray is the third base of the future. Depending on how quickly he adapts to AA pitching he may be in play next year….IMO.

Agree, he’s had a rough start AA so far but give him another hundred plus it bats the rest of this year and we could see in the second half of next year. If not then for sure in 28. That is if there’s baseball next year.

The collapse is officially set. August 2, this time. Marked and officially capped off with a horrendous 3 out of 4 loss weekend to the lowly bush league Reds.

Actually kinda surprised this season: Usually this minor league outfit is done in June. They somehow lasted until the 2nd day of August.

Sell everything and start over 😂. Nutting the thief needs to concentrate now on making sure the other owners don't get that salary cap they all want.

He should be more worried about a salary floor.

I'm very curious to see how it all plays out--if anything significant actually happens. I'm not convinced.
Me either. The fat cats in the league like the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc will fight it off. The MLB has no backbone and they will cave to those large market teams.
