Cant believe there wasnt more discussion about it on here! There could have been 3 people excited and 15 people shitting on how the NBA Draft isnt nearly as good as it was in the 80s.

Anyways...
Spoiler- no MSU players were selected.

Despite winning the SEC, Florida didnt have anyone drafted.
1 Bama player was drafted late in the first round.
3 Arkansas players were drafted, with 1 in the top10.
3 Tennessee players were drafted, with 1 in the top15.

11 players from the SEC were drafted.

AI says the NBA isn’t fun to watch anymore. “Many fans feel the NBA has lost its entertainment value due to excessive player rest (load management), an over-reliance on three-point shooting, and a decline in game flow caused by frequent foul-baiting and flopping.” ETA I don’t know why I quoted AI since it’s just a summary of the interwebs.

Grizzlies got Boozer. That’s all I wanted to see. Also was hilarious to see how many second round picks the grizzlies ended up with and then turned around the next night and traded two of the pics back to Detroit that they had gotten from Detroit the night before and got a player back out of it

I will be a bit homerish and plug a relatively local player- Bennett Stirtz.

- The guy played his first 2 seasons at D2 Northwest Missouri State where he was only a Second Team Conference selection each season.

- He then followed his coach to Drake where he was awesome against even high level D1 teams and averaged 19.2ppg. 5.7apg, and 2.1spg on his way to winning MVC Player of the Year and an NCAA Round of 32 appearance.

- He followed his coach again to Iowa where he averaged 19.8ppg, 4.4apg, and 1.4spg on his way to being a First Team Big 10 Conference selection and an NCAA Elite 8 appearance.

That alone is a helluva college career. But then he was also drafted 16th!
The guy went from being a D2 2nd team conference selection to dominating high level D1 and being drafted 16th in just 27 months.

Thomas Haugh was receiving a mid-1st round grade but elected to return to Florida. Same thing happened with Mullins at UConn. NIL has really changed the game for some of these guys that are outside of where they want to be in the draft. They can stay in, get drafted, sit on the bench for a year or two - or they can continue being the star at a place they've already called home and make similar money.
