I see him as an ideal add. 2 who can play the 3. You have Wilkins as a 2 but he can play the point. Momcilovic can play the 3 or the 4. Great versatility and at the end of the season, when we shorten to an 8 man primary rotation, we will be able to keep a stocked lineup on the court

It’s reasonable to expect there’s a decent chance at least a guy or two MAY shoot a little better in a spread offense and with Mom obviously always necessarily keeping the best perimeter defenders busy while he’s on the court. But still, it’s hardly a sane strategy to field a team whose whole success rides entirely on multiple guys consistently shooting better than they ever have—and in most cases doing it against better competition than they’ve ever faced.
If you can sense this roster needs another player GET A FREAKING GUARD WITH RANGE.
Sometimes Pope is the exact literal definition of sophomore: “wise fool.”
I’m trying to be behind him but I sure hope that tendency doesn’t bite him in the @SS this year as hard as it did last year. —it’s starting to look like it will without an unlikely amount of luck in terms of statistical jumps.

This would be a huge get. Then you add Spears in the Fall, bring back Wilkins/Diallo/both Williams/Hawthorne/etc.
Then you're basically a portal big away from being a true title contender next season.

He is the cousin of former Bob Knight recruit Ivan Renko. He never made it to the states but the dude was a beast.
My man, this kid is a projected top 5 pick in 2 years putting up big numbers against grown men. You guys act like Koby Breas just grow on trees. He can also play the 2 with his handles and we need another ball handler. Some people on here are saying we can just play Kam at the 2 which is hilarious to me, I don't think I've ever seen him hit a dribble move on anyone.
If he wants to come and the money is there, he's a take and you're crazy to think otherwise.

This kid plays SG, just an FYI and can run the point as well. Just because he is 6’8 doesn’t make him a forward. (Yes I know occasionally articles and tweets also say SF but he doesn’t play that if you actually watch games)
Maybe do some research before we complain next time, especially when we are going for a future top 10 pick.

You acting like we want a guy playing shooting guard who shoots 20% from three and 33% from the free throw line is what’s ****ing hilarious. Just because Kobe Breas don’t grow on trees doesn’t mean guys who can shoot from outside at the towering clip of 34% are hard to find when Eastern Europe is obviously an option, or that it’s a great idea to plan our season around a sophomore starting 2 guard who couldn’t hit a third of his outside shots against giants like Wofford and VMI when we plan to take at least 30 outside shots per game against much, much, much stiffer competition and our whole offense doesn’t even work if we don’t hit a third of them.
He won’t be at Kentucky unfortunately. Too much of a logjam already. Unless he’s fine with a reduced role year 1 then starting role year 2

is this nikola guy not a three point shooter?
He saw stats for a 9 game stretch (in which he was 16 and in the Spanish pro league and only playing 6 minutes a game. Literally took 5 3s total and 1/3 from the foul line)
and not overall stats which show over 50 games. He’s more like 60% from 2pt FG, 32% from 3 and 77% FT. Kid has superstar potential and we have “fans” complaining that we are after him. Comical to say the least, he instantly makes us a top 10 team and a title contender.
Most of his games have been in U22 competition and he was 15-16 at the time.

I didn’t love the way Mark subbed the guys last season at all to be honest, not because the other guys were bad, but because the guys he was taking out were playing well most of the time. that 15 team with all that Pro talent was perfectly done and you could bring anyone of them in anytime and not lose anything. I really love our overall talent this season for sure, I don’t think Mark will change his subbing pattern but this team may have the right amount of talent to keep the hammer down. Can’t wait to see these guys.
Pay attention poser. I didn’t call him a forward because he’s 6’8”; I called him a forward because he’s listed as a forward. And (though he’s hardly ever gotten any minutes at all so the whole point is silly) he may have been used a bit at 2 in a euro league where literally all the other positions are firing from outside, to take advantage of his height+handling combination, but with his woeful shooting percentages he is absolutely not going to be used as a shooting guard here with how much our whole offense collapses when we don’t have multiple real perimeter threats on the floor at once and LOL if you think he’s going to play point here.
He's projected as a top 20 pick in 2028. Why would we not add him if we can afford him? Hawthorne is still a question mark. We'd all love to hail him as the next Tayshaun Prince, but none of us know if he has made the physical strides to contribute on a high level this year. That leaves Kam as a pure small forward. We need shooting guard and small forward depth. I love that Pope is pursuing this kid.

Because we’re full up and there is a 15-man limit and we desperately need, desperately, desperately need another guard with range. Absent those circumstances I would be all in with throwing him on the pile. And for my money if you want to take him and redshirt Hawthorne another year I’d be fine with that too. But I don’t think Pope would get on board.
