3 schools out of 500+. Those are the exception, not the rule. I stand by my statement.
Understand that a great majority of 5A and above schools run option concepts out of the gun. So that would make them a Spread Option team. See Mt. Carmel, JCA,ST. Francis Etc... Just saying. Watch the tape.

Yeah, no. You'll be hard pressed to find too many people that consider an RPO offense an "option" offense.

Unfortunately you do not understand what I said. I said option football. If you study football, RPO football is a version of option. It is a read option except with a pass. Every offense starts with option concepts. When a QB pulls and throws it is because of the action of the read key. That I believe is option football. It is just out of Gun. If you look at RPO it is RUN/Pass Option. Hmmm. Time to study.

No disagreement on your point but that’s not what we are talking about out.

Then why aren't kids from the likes of PR and CG recruited to schools that run a spread option? When was the last time either of those schools had a high level WR recruit. They're not remotely the same offense.

I am not a coach or fan of those teams. I will not comment on teams, coaches or players. This is HS football. All I am saying is that every offense has option concepts. Do the research and you will find your answer. BTW ever hear of a choice route in spread. That my friend is an option route pending the read of the LB or DB depending on the offense. Just saying.

*sigh* congrats on knowing basic terminology, are you going to walk me through a route tree next? Just because players have options on a given play doesn't make it the option offense we're talking about and fairly certain you know that.

Why did a player like Samson Evans, quite possibly the best RB the state of IL has ever seen at the HS level, only get offers from colleges like Eastern Michigan? Because he went to PR where they ran the option and larger FBS programs are going to be leary of players that run the option in HS.

Again, the conversation was specifically about the dwindling number of option run teams (PR/CG/RB)....not spread option, not run/pass option, not option routes, not any other option concepts in football.

Just FYI, Samson Evans was recruited, signed and played at Iowa before transferring to Eastern MI. Plus he played QB at PR.

IDK Donovan McNabb and Jordan Lynch were pretty successful even though they were only option QB's in high school.

YES, that was in the past. :)
