For me I would expect the big improvement for CW to occur next year. He got nothing out of last year with the former coaching staff, other then the speed of the game.
With CW having a year under his belt in the new system and working with BJ over the off- season I am cautiously optimistic that he will take a major step forward.
He continues to be very clutch. Hard to coach that. I would think and hope his ability to read defenses, footwork and anticipation will get better with more experience

He’s already very good. You don’t need to be Gil Brandt to see that. People just love to criticize the QB. That’s been around as long as fire.

Rooting for the Bears for you guys. That was fun yesterday (granted, I tuned in late in the 4th quarter!!).

His main issue is inconsistent accuracy. The rest of the traits he has in spades.

Would you rather play one of those NFC West teams instead? I wouldn't.
Yes. Those 3 are a handful. Much tougher than the Pack.

This season has been a great leap forward for the Bears. They have the two most important things in place: a head coach, and a quarterback. Now they need to build a championship caliber defense. Most of that work involves the front four, and perhaps getting faster at linebacker. Dennis Allen has proven to be an alchemist and getting that defense to perform given the roster and the injuries.

As a non-Chicago fan who could care less about this topic, can I just start ranting about H1B visas to get this thread closed?

Tonight will be an acid test for the Bears. That Niners team has a lot to play for. They have tons of weapons on offense. Unfortunately, some sort of flu bug has weakened the bears.

I dunno, this whole thing is making me feel some serious feelings about labor competition…
I never minded the H1B guys when I worked at a software firm. Sometimes, the stench of curry was pretty strong during lunchtime. My friend Manesh called his favorite curry “butthole curry”. And then he would offer it to me. At which point, I would tell him to go fix the Slurpee machine. I miss those days.

One of my best friends is from Calcutta, this makes me wanna go get him spun up about southern Indian spice blends or East Asian food. NOT A FAN.

This thread could be about racist attitudes among Asian and South Asian ethnicities maybe?

In other news, Cam Mitchell is playing for the Colts and Greg Newsome for the Jaguars in the AFC South matchup between their teams. Mitchell dropped an easy pick on a drive that ultimately ended in a Jacksonville TD. Both guys started the season on the Browns. Newsome was traded to the Jaguars, while Mitchell was picked up by the Colts after being released.

The highlight of the day, of course, was watching 41 year old Philip Rivers lead the Colts offense.

Xenophobic commentaries are as old as mankind. Walking down Orchard Road in Singapore taught me about “gweilo.” I’ve had French cab drivers tell me I’m a racist colonialist (at which pointI reminded him of France’s history in the Caribbean). The Russian Jews I dined with on Christmas Eve made fun of my native Missouri. And the Hungarians made fun of my jumpshot.

Who gives a ****? Embrace the suck. It’s all part of the brotherhood of mankind.

It's not a great NFL draft in general. I think there is a decent pool of talent at nose/1T, which should benefit the Bears at 25. Billings and Jackson are both over 30, and much help is needed here. This won't do a lot for the pass rush, but should considerably upgrade the run defense.

There are some decent prospects at Edge on day 2, where the Bears pick at 57.

Bears pick again at 89. Adding speed at LB or maybe finding a LT prospect could make sense. Might want to draft a safety, but 89 seems a bit early for that.

Generally, the Bears can go BPA at DT / Edge on days 1 and 2, and BPA at OLB or LT on day 2, and Safety on day 3 and have a productive draft.
