197: Championship Quarters:
#1 seed Aaron Brooks vs. #8 seed Stephen Buchanan (Oklahoma) -- I'll use SB

Per 1
Brooks with a reach at 30 sec mark, nothing. Brooks working the head hard, and has a front headlock, nothing. SB working the edge. AB with another front headlock, and then gets a low single and slips behind for the TD, 3-0, as they go OOB with 1:23 left. SB to his feet and AB lets him go, 3-1. Stall warning on SB. Brooks with a double to a single and has SB's elbow trapped and takes him to his back. He adjusts, and gets the pin at 2:44!!!!!

So you want to be a ref? Check out Griffith's comeback in the 3rd period. A lot of refs would not have given an esc to Simma, though Griffith was trying to cut him. Griffith really didn't get far enough away, IMHO, for it to be an esc. And if it's not an esc, he doesn't get the 2nd TD.

I was thinking that while watching. They never really disengaged. I may not have given the escape.

I’m not an official.
You know I only know enough to be a fan of the sport. However, saw this and had it explained at a HS match this year, so I’ll agree there was not enough separation.
