And I am also reading that it is planned for George to sit out one game of each back-to-back, just like Embiid.
Too many other things going on -- I missed the Sixers getting their 1st win of the season on 10/27.
Maxey is out for a while. Too bad.

Yeah, I was watching some of the Clippers game, and he didn't look good after the injury. I had a suspicion he'd be out for a bit. So the team was without Embiid and George to start. George finally was ready to play this week, but now Maxey is out and Embiid is still out (and even if ready, has 2 more games of a suspension). Not an auspicious start to the season for the Sixers.
Agreed. But they're missing 2 of their big 3. It's not fun, as a fan. But I look at some fo the other top teams in the East, who aren't missing stars, and they are not exactly setting the world on fire. So, I just chuckle and remember that it's a long season.
I'm glad they reached this decision, but why go through all the time and expense, and disruption they caused, and to reach an agreement with the city government, and then back away. smh
This thread has been awfully quiet this year. Sigh. What do people see as the best path forward for the Sixers? With Embiid hobbled, do they shelve him for the year and tank to try and keep their first round pick?
Can this team contend as constructed? Safe to say the George move blew up on them in spectacular fashion. And who knows whether Embiid can come back and play at a high level again.

The #1 pick would have been better (how the heck did the Mavs move up to #1?), but #3 is better than where they finished (i.e., they moved up via the ping pong balls).

Hey!! What did I miss this season? I went on a dinosaur dig in remote Antarctica that last from October until May. I had no tv or cell coverage. I can only assume the Sixers are undefeated since I didn’t watch one game this year!! Right!?! I mean…it couldn’t have gone bad at all right?? This thread was only two pages assuming they won every game and you all got bored!?!
What other crazy things did I miss?? If you’re telling me the Sixers aren’t great, what’s the next crazy things could have possibly happened?? 76ers take Edgecombe in NBA draft; Pelicans move for Queen
The Philadelphia 76ers selected 19-year-old guard VJ Edgecombe out of Baylor with the No. 3 pick in the NBA draft.

That seems to be in the zone (numbers wise) of where mocks have him being selected. Is he what the Sixers need? That's debatable. He seems to be quite a project (watching him play this past season for PSU, I never would have predicted he would be in the NBA draft).
It will be interesting to see how they get all these young guards minutes next season. McCain and Edgecombe will need playing time to develop.
Yeah, that is a concern to me just looking at the roster.
I think the Sixers were somewhat limited by this year's draft class. Flagg went #1 and he's a F. Picks 2 thru 8 were Gs, so it appears the top talent was at the G position. FWIW, things flipped at pick 9. Picks 9 thru 17 were either Cs or Fs. (I freely admit to spending almost no time learning about this year's draft class. I'm not sure if these figures are do to talent evaluation, or more how Gs and SF are more valuable in today's NBA, or some combo of the two.)
