Took fu@king long enough.Penn State has announced Rob Cooper's resignation at baseball coach. Coop will coach the final two games of the season.
I thought Ms. Excellence had already done that. At least a lot of people told me so.Yes is the answer to question if Pat Kraft is “modernizing” Penn State athletics.
No. First, Wheeler was the Temple baseball coach when Temple AD Pat Kraft cut the Owls' baseball program. Might be some hard feelings there. Second, while Penn State is not going to attract a head coach from an ACC or SEC program, it can do much better than Ryan Wheeler. Third, why do we need someone with ties to the University and the Commonwealth? Way, way too limiting and the experience you suggest adds no advantage to the job. We need a fresh start with someone who can recruit, I don't care where the recruits come from. Some experience coaching in the Mid-Atlantic or Midwest is probably helpful, but not dispositive.Personally, I believe we need someone with ties to the University and the Comminwealth of PA.
My choice would be Ryan Wheeler, former PSU player under Joe Hindelang and former Head Coach at Temple before they dropped the program and now Assistant Head Coach at St Joe’s.
