right now our 2023 OL has to be the best we have seen in talent for a long time. We never actually saw all the current talent 100% healthy playing together. With Fashanu coming back, we are looking at a pretty talented group, and the depth is really strong (assume we do not suffer a bunch of portal losses). With the incoming talent, OL really looks strong, and we could even go to the 6-7 OL plays other BIG teams are starting to use.

DL also looks very solid at DE and 3 tech DT. If we have a soft spot it seems to be the massive 1 T DT/NT type of player. We need a few of these on the roster. Given that UM, Minny, Iowa and Illinois run the 7 OL package, it is hard to play small ball on some plays. given that we also play the 4-2-5 so our SAM is normally safety sized, this feels like our biggest unknown.

I hope your optimism proves to be warranted. My biggest concern is with the DL. ”Solid” is not good enough when playing OSU and Michigan. PSU needs difference making high impact players along the DL, like Arnold Ebiketie. PSU has some very good young players who have the “potential” to be difference makers. They just are not there yet.
