Third Quarter Burst Leads No. 4 Penn State to Road Win at Bucknell
The Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey team (12-2, 5-1 B1G), ranked No. 4 in the NFHCA Coaches Poll, rolled to a 4-0 win at Bucknell (4-9) in a non-conference field hockey game. The Nittany Lions exploded for three goals in the third period to break open what was a close 1-0 game at halftime...
This weeks's NFHCA Div. I National Coaches Poll is not yet out. PSU was #4 in the 10/11 poll. That's excellent, but the B1G conference, and tournament, is likely to be a bear.
B1G teams in the 10/11 poll:
#2 - Maryland
#3 - Northwestern
#4 - PSU
#5 - Iowa
#10 - Michigan
#20 - Rutgers
#21 - Ohio State
So 7 of the top 25 teams, including 5 in the top 10, are in the B1G.
So far, PSU has defeated (from the 10/11 rankings), #6 Virginia (3-2), #9 Saint Joseph's (2-1), #10 Michigan (2-1), #21 Ohio State (2-0), #5 Iowa (2-1, OT), and #23 Albany (6-2). They've lost to #7 Louisville (1-2) and #3 Northwestern (4-5, OT).
There are 2 games remaining in PSU's schedule -- 10/21 against #2 Maryland, and 10/28 against #20 Rutgers.

The #2 I think you're referencing is the NCAA Field Hockey RPI.
