Nebraska has had a Top 10 finish according to Chatelain article in OWH. Highest finish during this time was 14 in 2009. 48 other teams have finished in top 10 during this time. 43 were power five. Only 12 power five schools have not been top 10 during this same time period.

Kinda puts the whole "Pelini won 9 or 10 every year!" argument in perspective, huh?

Have you found a new AD job since let go by Pittsburg Shawn?
I think the name you’re looking for is Steve.

FTR I think he was too quick to pull the trigger on Solich. Only two seasons after a national title appearance. But it was time for Bo to go after 2014. If his time at YSU and LSU hasn’t convinced you of that, idk what will.

Those are NU basketball futility-level sounding stats. Sigh...

You are correct about Steve. My bad. Man didn't have enough balls to get rid of Bo the previous year when he should of. I guess he was waiting for MR to become available. I was convinced he should have been left go two years before he was. Nice guy to drink beer with. Terrible guy to be the face of your program.

The last 20 years have absolutely changed how think of the program. It's been a generation since we were a legitimately good football team. That is a very long time. The way I think about the sport, the way I watch and my attitude before and after games has completely changed.

I had a lifelong friend pass away late last year. We grew up during the glory years of Nebraska football. In the last decade we'd reminisce about the good ol' days, and wonder if we'd live long enough to see Nebraska compete for a title once more. Sad.

Would rather strive for our program’s highest potential and fail than be like Iowa and accept mediocrity.
I was simply recalling that the 9ish wins a year under Pelini actually kinda sucked, we almost never had a win of consequence. Highest ranking 14th? I don't see the reason to bring Iowa into it. The dozen or so trolls that live here aside, I have no problem saying I'd be happy to accept their level of mediocrity right now. It's been 20 freaking years man, it's time to put aside the trite refusals to accept mediocrity and face facts. We're a bottom feeder. I guess someone forgot to tell us that "striving" doesn't look like punching yourself in the balls repeatedly.
