They should be out shortly, the NDE website still hasn't updated membership of schools since 11/23/20, so maybe by Friday we will have this information!
Schools are still working to correct their numbers, especially in cases they are close to the line, making sure kids who have moved are off the rolls; sometimes this paperwork doesn't get taken care of on the academic side because it doesn't make much difference to them. Then the athletic people notice if it is close to making a classification difference. I know a couple of schools that are combing their records today.
NDE is so poorly run and the last two years have been horrible. Numbers are due 1st of OCT. schools can not change that number NDE is just a mess and a waste of tax payer money

There are kids who were not in school or going to that school on October 1 that were not cut from rolls because academically it makes no difference. Schools worrying about other things. Now, athletics makes it matter, so they are doing their homework late. Happens.

I pretty sure once you turn in your Oct 1st list, doesnt matter if a kid leaves or comes in after that, for NSAA, your Oct 1st count is the count they use, regardless
I just dont see that working, if a school adjust down a kid, then where did that kid go and who goes up one kid. I am not sure about that
Some of it is Nebraska's move to no drop out until 18. USed to be 16. Now kids just disappear on a move. Was enrolled at a school, can't do paperwork to drop out because it is not allowed, so they use a move to 'disconnect' from that school.
Some were enrolled as sophomores and never showed up as juniors and no one knows where they are. Others stopped in sometime and enrolled, but never showed up and aren't at the address enrolled at.
Sometimes it is an immigration issue. The family has moved quickly with no notice and not re-enrolled at a school that would request transfer documents.
Even in the states, if you have ever worked with transcripts from other states (especially more populated state and states with 'special personalities'; i.e. Florida) you get all kinds of worthless documentation when you finally get them to send anything, and if the kid is transferring to them, they may never call for transcripts. How do they enroll the kid? I have no idea. Schools everywhere are not like schools in Nebraska.
The bigger the school, the more of these kids. Enough of them and a certain enrollment point and you have a school noticing a problem where before it wasn't a problem, and it takes a while to get things in order to show that the kid was not enrolled on Oct 1 and, in fact, may not have been enrolled for quite a while.
