Will 25 be the max recruits in 2020 if get 30 this year and 5 rollback to 2018. Also do transfers not count in that number as long as at 85 or below scholorships by the fall?

It depends. You will have a better idea on what the 2020 class will look like after spring ball. That is when you will see some attrition. Right now we have 82 on scholarship, clearly that will change between now and spring. If there is no further attrition before Feb signing day, which is highly unlikely, Nebraska can take 6 more in 2019. Again depending on how the 2019 class finishes and how many transfers come in, and how close we are to 85 going into the fall. The 2020 class has a base of 16 plus 3 or 19. That is of today 12/26/18.

Grand transfers and Transfers from 4 year schools count only against the 85.

But also keep in mind Walk-on’s awarded scholarship, mainly underclassmen

Has Kade Warner already been awarded a scholarship? Assuming he takes it, being a sophomore, he’d change the numbers. Awarding walk-on seniors doesn’t really change the numbers because they are one and done.

You think a HOF QB can manage the out of state tuition for NU? I think he might be able to swing that 20K a year if he's been wise with his millions...

I'll guess at a 2020 class size of around 23 going off the "base" figure Tuco gave above and I might be engaging in wishful thinking. You would expect the rate of attrition to slow a bit but I'm probably using my hopes more than my head to think only 4 hit the bricks from all causes between now and then.

I am not sure attrition rate will slow down significantly. When you recruit top 20ish classes, you will still have a portion of the class that doesn’t meet expectations, a portion that will get stuck behind a younger dude, a portion that will be injured and a portion that won’t fit in.

I haven’t looked at the numbers but I would bet Alabama and Clemson have a good amount of attrition even with their success.

You see how many kids he has? (rates right up there with Phillip Rivers) No matter how good he is with money, he should take it if its there for him. If Wade is on the two deep roster history shows those players will get a scholarship.
