Incoming class -
Terrence Clarke 6-6
BJ Boston 6-6
Devin Askew 6-3
Isaiah Jackson 6-9
Lance Ware 6-9
Cam'Ron Fletcher 6-6

Likely returning players -
Keion Brooks 6-7
Johnny Juzang 6-6
Dontaie Allen 6-6

Possible returner -
Immanuel Quickley 6-3
EJ Montgomery 6-10

Most likely gone -
Nick Richards
Tyrese Maxey
Ashton Hagans

Based on this, next years team will likely be long and athletic, but very short on guards. Does Cal go after another guard to round out the team, especially if Quickley decides to leave? Askew is a combo guard, but not known for his handle and distributing capabilities. Boston is a 6-6 shooting guard but I dont think we can count on him to run the point. That puts us in a kind of precarious situation.

Quickley isn't a point guard. How many minutes has he played PG this year when Hagans wasn't in the game? He is a 2 that can shoot and score, he's not an elite passer or ball handler. He won't be here next season anyway.

Maybe Cunningham.

Where is Hagans going?
Was watching a replay of a ‘94 unc/wake game (nothing else on and I don’t mind Tim Duncan) and jerry stackhouse was a “role player” averaging about 20 minutes a game as a freshman when he clearly was a top 3 player on either team. My how times have changed.

Yeah, I don't get why so many supposed UK fans think he's a pg. He hasn't played one minute at the point for UK.

Askew is a stud and will start but we will need to add a back up in grad transfer market if Quick leaves which I suspect he will. Bet we find a good back up from a smaller school.
He turns the ball over a little to much for my liking but by soph or junior year he should be good to go

Quickley needs to return and run the show. I don’t give two shats about anyone who knocks his skill level and ability to run it. He came in last year vs Houston bc of hagans fouls and did a nice job. You give him the reins and sell him on it he would be a helluva pg with all those guards and wings

Agree,I don't know why some think he couldn't run the show simply because he hasn't had the chance yet.

Where is Hagans going?
I’m not trying to mock you but people ask the same question every year in the exact same way. “Where is (Orton, Lamb, Harrison, Ulis, Johnson, Skal, Diallo etc.) going?”

And they all go to the same place. As if it had never happened before. I would love to have Hagans for another year but he’s on draft boards in the second round. So it’s probably where he’s going.

So he’s projected to go in the second round and he's a sophomore that can't shoot.

But he's still going to jump.

Only at UK.

The system needs to change.

Well, he did play the position his whole life and will have to play the position at the next level, but, other than that, yeah.
Where are you getting this information? I've never seen IQ listed as a PG and he is not shown to he a future pg in anything I have read. Dude us not a pg.

But just in case, you are talking about Quickly right?

Lol....what percentage of the kids who have left have gone to the GL or the second round?
What percentage of sophomores that aren't projected to be first rounders leave school at universities NOT named UK?

Can you name 5 players from other schools that left after their sophomore season that weren’t projected first rounders?

This is a college program, but it's treated like it's a turnstile.

I believe if anyone honestly has Ashtons best interest an cares about his future, they’ll tell him what all of America knows, return to school young man. Another year and another summer of practicing his mid range and three point shot would work wonders for the kid. I hate that most all these kids think they’re failures if they don’t get into the NBA after one or two years.

You have four years of eligibility and unless you’re seeing your name pop up as a potential lottery pick or at minimum, first round pick, you should take full advantage of all four years of college. A free education, great memory’s and a chance to improve your draft stock. For a kid like Ashton who is right on the verge of becoming a super star pg for one of the most storied programs in America, it’s a win win situation.

I can’t say what’s on the young mans mind, but looking from the outside and from someone who’s saw too many make mistakes before him, I 100% believe he needs at least one more year, if he’ll put his all into it and give everything he has to improve his shooting and taking care of the ball a little better, he’ll be a lottery pick this time next year. I’m behind him no matter what he ends up doing, I just hope he does what he should do, and not what he probably wants to do. Either way, someone will be ready to go next year and Kentucky Basketball will be trying to win a championship! Go Cats!!!

Jalen Mcdaniels (52), tremont Waters (51) , Daniel Gafford (38) , Bruno Fernando (34), KZ Okpala (32) . That is 5 sophmores alone from last years draft that left early and were taken in the second round
