For the second straight year, an in-state defensive linemen received a scholarship offer from Nebraska directly after a Friday Night Lights camp.

Scottsbluff end Garrett Nelson — 6-foot-3, 235 pounds — picked up the offer Friday night after camping at both the Huskers Big Man camp earlier in the day and at the FNL camp later that night. NU defensive coordinator Bob Diaco extended the offer. Nelson was reportedly impressive in the morning session and equally so in the evening, even as coaches had to move the camp indoors to the Hawks Championship Center to avoid severe thunderstorms.

"I had a really good camp and wanted to get some good reps and work hard," Nelson said. "I guess I did today and it felt good."

Nelson is the son of former Nebraska All-American wrestler Chris Nelson, who won NU's Most Outstanding Wrestler Award in 1992. He's the second in-state prospect to garner an offer in the 2019 class, following Omaha Burke linebacker Nick Henrich.
Congrats. I'm guessing not many players from Scottsbluff get D-1 offers.

Seems like the western end of the state churns out some pretty decent athletes, just not in any real volume...last D1 football players I can think of from Scottsbluff were Jamie Worden (Nebraska) and Dean Davis (Colorado) in the mid 80s...could be wrong. They have another kid who will be sophomore that is a freak athlete out there too.
