Matt lists a bunch of RS JR's that won't be returning. Hopefully HCRE finds some JUCO's or transfers that can push for starting jobs on D, he doesn't have time with the fanbase to suck that bad anymore. Here's the list of guy not sticking for their SR year that will open up schollies:

" Freshmen defensive linemen Eric Watts and Jeff Woods have also enrolled in classes as has running back Art Thompkins, a graduate transfer who rushed for 1,427 yards and 11 touchdowns in three seasons at Toledo. Thompkins, Watts and Woods will be able to take part in spring practice since they are currently enrolled in school."

Regarding the roster:
"there is a chance for additions and subtractions to the roster before the start of preseason camp......... Edsall said there are four scholarship spots available and if a defensive end, safety, receiver and tight end are available through the graduate transfer or junior college route that they would not hesitate to add them to the mix. ........"

"With barely three months until UConn football’s season begins, coach Randy Edsall can’t say for certain what his roster will look like on Aug. 29 against Wagner. In fact, he said Tuesday at the UConn Coaches Road Show, the NCAA’s highly active transfer portal means he might not have final answers for a while. “It’s an ever-changing situation," Edsall said. "Our roster won’t be final until we go to camp on [July] 31...........the Huskies could use help: tight end, wide receiver, defensive lineman and safety "

And another one bites the dust...QB Washington ..hmmm, I guess there was a reason Edsall brought in a 5th scholly QB last week...
( he said he only likes to carry 4 scholly QB's in a position breakdown of the 85 last fall)

Makes sense that he mentioned Diaco on the way out . Looks like Dixon ended up with one of Diaco's former Uconn assistants, Josh Reardon, who is now the asst HC at Eastern Kentucky. And since KD is dropping down to FCS he can play right away:

Journal Inquirer- UConn's Edsall not worried about recent departures

" Edsall said his team’s final roster for the upcoming season isn’t set yet, either. There are a number of recruits who could join the program before August....... “We’re still trying. I’ve got three more guys coming into today. We’ve got five coming in this weekend. We’ve had a lot of official visits,” Edsall said. “June’s a busier month than it’s ever been with the recruiting changes.”
