I think 8-4 or 9-3 is a very good goal to have. Based on the schedule, a way-too-early-to-know prediction of the schedule would be:
Aug 31st - South Alabama - W
Sept. 7th - @ Colorado - W
Sept. 14th - Northern Illinois - W
Sept. 21st - @ Illinois - W
Sept. 28th - Ohio State - ?
Oct. 5th - Northwestern - W
Oct. 12th - @ Minnesota - W
Oct. 26th - Indiana - W
Nov. 2nd - @ Purdue - ?
Nov 16th - Wisconsin - ?
Nov. 23rd - @Maryland - W
Nov. 29th - Iowa - W
So, if we field a good team next year, I think only 1 or 2 games really are questionable. I went ahead and labeled three games with "?" because I think they'll be the toughest.
Could we drop one to Colorado yet somehow beat Ohio State? Sure. Is it possible we go undefeated? Sure, but unlikely.
I think our schedule is WAY easier than this last year, and the offense should be really, really nasty. That alone means we should probably double last season's win totals.
