I'll let it play out, but I'm not giving any team the trophy before the game is played. I've see too many cases in sports where the champ was crowned before the event happened and guess what............
I agree with that. Just like last year. No one except Weddington followers have them a chance. I get it. But I guarantee this: Weddington will not overlook anyone. And they will be extremely tough to beat.

You are correct on all points, but who's to say that there aren't other teams outside of the Charlotte area that have what it takes to take them down? If I were going to pick a team it wouldn't be one of the teams at the top of the rankings. It will take a hungry team with a chip on their shoulder.
Kinda like the chip Weddington had when they whooped Catholic? I get it.

Not sure anyone said Weddington didn't have a chance in 3AA last year. Many thought of them as the favorites.

Right now Weddington's competition is themselves, NW Cabarrus and Lee County. We spent the last regular season and post season games worrying about mighty Watauga/AC Reynolds/Mt Tabor last year, and then they walked through everyone that lined up against em. Always respect your opponent but believe you're better, top to bottom.

If Dudley goes west their line on defense would give Weddington some issues, but they aren't consistent enough on O for me to make them favorites to get to a title game even if they were to be in the east. Their whole conference is jumbled. Thought preseason Dudley was team to beat, obviously things have changed.

I would be shocked if Lee County can keep up with them. NWC for that matter, too.

The only thing I know about Lee County is they have a big DL, Evans, and plate 2A Anson County to a 7-point game in which they were losing when the game was postponed until the following Monday.

Didn’t they have about 3 preseason all-State players?

Dudley has a UNC commit at defensive end (Sr.) and a defensive tackle that is number one at his position in the nation by many recruiting sites and was at one point the number one overall recruit for the class of 2021. They also have a South Carolina commit at WR and another sophomore receiver that is dangerous on kickoff and punt returns and he just got an offer from Louisville. Across the board Dudley prides itself on having their players in shape, and they are, but they have young players and inexperienced players as well. Running up the middle on Dudley is hard, but the pass game and the edges are where they are vulnerable IMO.
