Wonder if our offer to Max Duggan in 2019 would stand if Frost ended up at Nebraska. Seen the kid play a few times and he looks pretty impressive and has a good number of offers, one of which I believe is an offer from UCF.

Milton is a dual threat qb. Not Eric Crouch speed but can definitely move. I look for us to run a lot of option spread, much like Oregon during their hey day.

Here is some of what he said:

“As far as the whispers and everything … I think they’d make a huge mistake, because I think he’s quite a man and quite a coach,” Rich Gebbia, father of Nebraska freshman quarterback Tristan Gebbia.

“My son loves playing for them. Those decisions are beyond me and my son.”

But the elder Gebbia, who played collegiately at Mississippi, also attended the game against Wisconsin on Oct. 7 and watched the collective sinking of heads and the emptying of stands in the fourth quarter as the No. 5 Badgers pounded out a 38-17 victory.

“Yeah, I think you get that a lot with college coaches across the country, and I think it’s just par for the course,” the elder Gebbia continued. “And that’s unfortunate.

“We don’t have anything to do with that decision. And as I said before, he loves the guy. He couldn’t be happier with him.”

“Coach Riley has done everything to develop him as a player,” Rich said. “All the young kids, obviously the freshmen, they love the coaching staff, and that’s all I can say. If you win, it’s a great thing. But if you don’t, it is what it is in college football.”

“I’ve never seen him so happy,” Rich said. “Just the environment — me, as a parent, I couldn’t ask for [better]. [Riley] has given us everything he told us he would give our son.”

I think Gebbia stays.

You have got to have a few of those kids that can pull everyone together in situations like this, also. TG is one of those types of kids. He will be a stud by the time he graduates from NU.

UCF QB McKenzie Milton has 253 passing attempts (69.6%) and only 65 rushes, so this isn't T-Magic's spread offense. They run more than they pass, with 345 rushing attempts to 277 passing attempts, but they are pretty balanced. Running back is mostly by committee, with two RB and the QB getting the most carries.

And how likely is that? Not very
Dunno. There are a lot of kids taking AP classes for college credit in high school I know one kid who will be a junior in academic standing when he starts college at 18 yrs of age next year. He'll have I think 16 hours of credit in math including stats. My daughter will be a sophomore when she starts next fall depending on what credits they let transfer.

These stats show O'Brien ran more his senior year (10 per game) than the UCF QBs have in 9 games this year (8.6 game). He also had a better average (5.7 yds per rush vice 5.4). Gebbia ran 5 times a game his senior year and most of them were probably scrambles. If Gebbia does not want to run at least 5-8 designed runs a game, he may want to transfer.

UCF is 55%/45% run/pass, whereas NU is 46%/54% run/pass. Of course, we always try to come from behind, but Langs said the goal was 50/50. If Gebbia wants to sling it every play, he should have gone to Wash St. NU and UCF would be pretty similar as far as pass attempts per game (if we weren't getting boat raced all the time and if we had better running/blocking).

I could see where POB might like Frost's offense a lot, Gebbia, maybe not so much.

65/350 Milton McKenzie UCF QB rushing (9 games, 3 games cancelled)

13/70 Noah Vederal UCF QB rushing

74/599 Adrian Killins Jr UCF RB rushing

64/229 Taj McGowen UCF RB rushing

UCF – rushing all players 345/1892, passing McKenzie/Vederal 196/277 for 2950 (71%)

NU – rushing all players 321/1156, passing Lee/O’Brien 216/376 for 2731 (57%)

23/ -76 Tanner Lee rushing 2017 (10 games)

77/293 Gebbia rushing 2016 senior year (15 games)

110/626 O’Brien rushing 2015 senior year (11 games)

I'd imagine if Frost had a dual threat with a dangerous pair of legs then the QB would have a lot more carries and production on the ground.

Have you watched UCF? Milton is in fact a threat with his legs. He's got great wheels.

Gebbia actually looked pretty mobile in the Spring Game. At 2:34 below he runs a read option play for a TD.

The 2:33 mark: Gebbia is faster than our defense! He can play in Frost's offense.

Also, you cannot post a video of the spring game that shows awesome plays by a backup RB named Mazour as this board hates him now because he posted a video of himself beating a teammate...

Yeah I've seen most of their games. He's pretty good but he's not a Mariota type for Frosts offense.
There aren't many Mariota types to begin with and you don't have to have Mariota to run that offense. Sure it doesn't hurt. Shoot, let's just find the next Cam Newton.

No you don't require the greatest QB's to run the offense, sort of the beauty of that offense in it's simplicity. If you want the next level then it's almost required that you have the Mariota types. Sure you're not going to find Mariota level players all the time but there are some very good dual threat QB's out there that are more of a run threat than Milton.

The kid is a nice combination of speed and accuracy. He could win the west for NU. IF we want to win the B!G we need the kind of guy you're talking about but they aren't as easy to find as you suggest IMO.

That is also the beauty of that system, it is attractive to those types of QB's. I agree Milton could win the west, probably even the B1G .

Mazour? Never herd of him. Oh wait. Was that the kid that Riley said "we have to get this kid on the field" ? Then he shined in the spring game and has yet to be seen of since he posted a tweet of breaking one of our defenders ankles in practice.

And yet they use Wilbon every week.

Let's say Riley is no longer with us next year and some Scott Frost dude is coaching us next year:

Tanner Lee would go NFL since there's no point in coming back for another season to learn another system that might not even fit him.

Does O'Brien take the top spot? What of Gebbia? And that JUCO transfer. He can run some if I recall. Or maybe a possible transfer?

I think Mazour was in their plans, if nothing else for special teams, but I think he has had an injury.

You really upped your game this week with actually posting a football related thread. Some are taking note ;).
