Kind of amazing how a team that gave up less than 5 PPG and averaged 50 PPG hasn’t had a single player on any all-state team.

Kind of amazing how a team that gave up less than 5 PPG and averaged 50 PPG hasn’t had a single player on any all-state team.

Just 2 1A players on there and one is from the most overrated charter school in football. He is a great player! 1A is overlooked in most all of the state teams. I mean what has little ole Tarboro done in the last decades other than have a few NFL players and produced the best NFL player the last 2 years. They are just 1A no way they have talent enough for an all state NC all-star team!!!

Charlotte Catholic has no one on the team.

Just because a team wins a state title does not necessarily mean they have all state players. Some teams have a lot of solid players but not really a single star. Sometime a superstar will not have great numbers or huge highlights because of sharing the load, being double/triple teamed, blowout wins, at al.

It's easy enough to explain ... . this is an individual award, not a team award. Seeing that this team is named from all classifications, I wouldn't expect to see many 1A players on the team just from a sheer numbers prospective. The representation on this particular team is probably fair and accurate. Don't worry, Tarboro will be copiously represented on the 1A All-State team. The one thing I'll dispute on this team is Burris from MIC. I was not a bit impressed with him on his unsuccessful visit to Bryson City. Probably a good kid, but overrated. A good fit for MIC honestly ... home of being overrated.
