Imagine Ash recruiting after being ranked during the season and playing in a defacto championship game! Such a waste. Our schedule is tougher this year than last year. Show me 5 wins? I don't see it.
Look I have high hopes for Ash. I'm critical here, but that is me just trying to be objective.

So I'm thinking, if he is a good coach, if Parker is a good strength coach, if Kill is a good coach, then we need not lay down like dogs and accept that every tough game is an L.

This is a marathon not a race.

They are trying to build something here, once it is built then we have have threads like this.

We will get there in time.

Actually a marathon is a race, but I agree it's not a sprint where we mortgage everything in short term to try to get short lived success. We are still in a competition and progress needs to be shown along the way. I think we've made some here with this recruiting class, the facility plans, and I think most importantly - the coaching changes. I feel pretty good about where we are despite the on-the-field results last season.

It's not so much about wins, it's about being competitive. We need to stop losing by north of four TD's, and be able to score some points. Kicking the ball out of the back of the endzone on kickoffs would be a plus.

There were four games last year where the kicker only had one opportunity to do so. I'd settle for an offense that reduced that number to one game.

I know the kid very well. He is no longer legitimately interested in us. As others in this thread have correctly pointed out, perhaps those of us ticked off at the nonsense pulled by some of the 2017 kids and their coaches has some of us overly ticked off today. That said, it will take a monumental effort to turn White back towards us.

How do you know him? I call BS on this, Cardinal Hayes coaches love our coaches

The twins are barely committed to ND. Long way to go with them and I would say we have just as good of a shot to land them.

I wouldn't say barely, but you're right we do have a good chance with them. Their dad likes Ash

I trust your insight. I am concerned about New York City, however. At one point we were a very legitimate option for Quadir White (Cardinal Hayes), and Sean Ryan (Erasmus), and were being considered by Matt Jones (Erasmus). All three have pretty much moved on and are no longer considering RU. Yes, it is early and things change, but these are 3 big time recruits from NYC who have soured on us. Troubling.

Gun to my head, I would predict the first 2018 commit to come from NY. And no, I am not talking about attention seeking Trill Williams.
