I just wonder how many of these Top 5 recruits we've missed on the last few years we would've gotten if we'd won that one game.

Completing that perfect season would've put our program in such a special place above all others. Instead Duke won the title two days later and then stole our recruiting mojo to boot.

thank you..........that is the way I remember it too.............the twins were always trying to be the hero. No way they should have dominated the ball those last few possessions, unless UK was ahead & knew Wi was going to foul. They wasted the entire shot clock & then threw up an air ball or got no shot at all......all the while Wi had no one to stop Towns. After the 1st time they did that, Cal should have called time out & told them if they did it again, they would be watching the final minutes, but he didn't. IMO, the twins pouted most every game of their UK career, unless they happened to have a good game. They also cost UK Wiggins with their attitude.

Yet some will talk about the great careers the twins had..........if they did, I sure missed it
I agree with you on everything except Wiggins. Wiggins was signed, sealed, and delivered with cash money to Kansas through Adidas. They did almost cost us Julius Randle he seriously considered going to Kansas or Florida just because of how much he hated the twins. The twins and Poythress kind of hung out during their 2 years at UK. They didn't really get along with any of the other guys.

A lot of people talk about playing Ulis and Booker that night against Wisconsin, I didn't want Booker anywhere near the game he couldn't score and gave up about 14 points to Sam Dekker in 10 minutes but I will always believe that if we had played Ulis that final 5 minutes we win the game. He would of got Karl the ball or at least moved the ball around, not just have it die like it did with the twins.

Andrew played a lot of wing and off the ball in his cup of coffee in the league. He was never a real strong PG at the NBA level. The twins were 6'4-6'5 in from the time they were sophomores in high school and they played bully ball all the way up the rankings. After scouts watched the first month of the season at UK against other big skilled humans neither of them were close to being on draft boards. But hey Andrew wanted to be a 2nd rounder and Aaron was ready to go be undrafted and they're making more money than 99% of the population ever will playing basketball in the old USSR. So that's great for them. They helped UK make it to the last 2 final fours we were in they also lost the Wisconsin game for us. Take the good with the bad I suppose
I'd put a lot of that loss on poor officiating more so than the players.

the shot clock call was obviously piss poor but Karl Towns scored with 6:37 left in the game to put UK up 60-56 UK did not score another point until :56 seconds left in the game and we were then down 64 -60. Karl Towns had 0 shots in that time, his next shot came with 17 seconds left and he drew a foul. In that time that Karl got 0 looks the twins took 6 shots between them made 1 and went 1-2 at the line to score 3 points. Also accounted for a couple turnovers.
