I am often annoyed by dudes that look more interested in making the highlight reel than to make a good form tackle. You see it a ton in the NFL. Dudes come flying at a RB or receiver like a missile and just expect the guy to fall down as he rocks the guy. This safety made that mistake verses a very physical receiver. Q absorbed that hit like he just got hit by a twelve year old in Pop Warner. Makes me miss guys like Mike "The Tick" Brown or Eric Hagg who were standouts at taking dudes down when they got their hands on them.

Here is Eric Hagg literally employing a gator roll verses a guy about forty pounds bigger than him using nothing more than the guys foot and ankle. He was either going down, or Hagg was gonna rip his leg off.

Gotta say I miss Tommy Armstrong. Wish he could have played under HCSF.
He was a good dual threat QB and leader. What happened to him under Riley was painful to watch, and it turned everyone against him. I don't think he deserved any of that, and is why I am patently against square peg round hole stuff period. It doesn't do anyone any good.

He wasn't very good in Pelini's system either. He was Tanner Lee before Tanner Lee

It’s strange looking back at Pelini year highlights and realizing how much better we were back then. Man Riley sucked.

That's for damn sure. Seven consecutive years of 9 or 10 wins to Smiling Mike's two losing seasons in three years.

Otoh, MR losing to everybody made it easy to can the worthless SE & MR.....and have a massive upgrade with coaching & AD. So, thanks a million MR!!

I’m gonna miss: the aw shucks, hip hip hooray, being told “he’s nice” from posters......

I supported Pelini. I supported Riley. I was thrilled when they fired Pelini. I was even more thrilled when Riley was released. Let's settle the pointless debates once and for all: Our proud, great program deserves better than both of those clowns.
