Just got word that upper level tickets for the upcoming season are $950 each, for the season. For 20 games, that makes the price $47.50 per ticket. Haven't heard what lowers are.

Lowers are $1140 per seat, not to mention the K Fund donation requirement that varies by location.

I believe the invoice said there will only be 19 home games this year, so upper level is $50 per ticket per game. That is up from $17 per ticket when I first purchased my season tickets in 2004.

A bargain. should be twice that compared to other forms of entertainment . We are the most elite team in college basketball and ticket prices should reflect it. Those of us lucky enough to have tickets should not complain about 50 bucks a game.

Bottom-line: the price inflation is staggering even with $1 billion dollars in new construction and that endowment.

Just 5 years ago I paid a little over $1400 for two upper arena seats. Now it's over $1900. Ridiculous. >25% increase in 5 years.

I was in NY City last week and took my family of 5 to a couple Broadway shows. Tickets were $250 each. Yankees game behind home plate 2nd level were $300 each. One Direction concert seats were $600 each. UK basketball tickets are nothing in comparison.

I'm just a happy Cat to be able to have season tickets in Rupp. I know prices have gone up but not to such an outrageous amount that I would give my tickets up or even complain. Sent my payment in the other day for renewal with a smile on my face in anticipation of all the fun we'll have in Rupp this winter.

I keep looking for season tickets to buy online now that I'm living back in Kentucky! Hopefully, I can find some decent upper level seats. If not, guess I'll be scalping prior to each game...:)

I understand your point but this team has been to 4 FINAL FOURS in that time period. The ticket was severely undervalued for a long time (probably b/c of that made stretch we had at the end of Tubby/beginning of Billy G.) and has finally caught up to what it is worth.

If we want to be successful, you need to be prepared to pay to invest in that product so we can keep going to Final Fours.

I agree that the UK product we are seeing on the floor with Cal is much more valuable than the end of Tubby and Billy G. Really, if the math was done on the success of the program tied to the ticket price, tickets would cost 1000% more for the games under Cal versus the Billy G. games.

That said, it smarts a little when you get one less home game in a season for $300 more and the quality of the non-conference home game opponents is not great. In my opinion, UofL and AZ State are really the only good non-conference home games.

I didn't hesitate to renew the tickets even with the price increase. It does make me nervous for the prices if they ever get around to putting a back on my upper level seats.

Anyone bitching about prices...plenty will buy your season tickets. 1900 dollars for 19-20 home games to see the Cats for two people? Cry me a river. That is a bargain if you ask me.

Yeah, i'm not seeing the problem. With Cal as coach, those prices are cheap. You are getting to see future nba superstars before they are known as. Most schools can't offer that every season like Cal can. You are getting to see elite teams that more often than not end up in the final four and a chance at championships. If Tubby were still coach, i would have some trouble with increasing prices. With Cal, it's worth every penny and really not worth complaining about. For those that kind of are, pop in a dvd of the last days of Tubby coached Kentucky teams or Billy G coached Kentucky teams and then think about what it's like now and if you're like me, you will be willing to throw some extra cash in for a donation.

Since it is such a great deal, if anyone wants to buy Albany, NJIT, Wright State, BU, Illinois State, and EKU from me for $50 per ticket per game, let me know. A chance to see six games for only $600. I usually wait until the SEC schedule comes out to offer tickets at face value, but I would not want anyone to have to wait any longer for the chance to buy these valuable and exciting home games.

I really don't understand the type of fan that has to only be at the "exciting" games to enjoy Kentucky basketball. Every game i'm at is exciting regardless of who we're playing. I don't need a double overtime last second buzzer beater against Duke to enjoy Kentucky basketball. Maybe I'm not understanding how different some people view 50 bucks. To me that's not much money to spend to get to watch the team I've grown up my entire life rooting for play. Maybe 50 bucks to some is a lot of money and that is where I'm losing some of you at. If so, my bad. If it comes down to feeding your children or watching Kentucky, you might should feed the kids. Unless your kid is chunky. If so, watch the game. It won't kill a kid to miss one meal. Jk

Okay, I had to smile at your post. [laughing]

As a season ticket holder myself, I haven't complained too much about the frequent increases so far. However, if it continues at this rate, there will come a time when it may be too much for me to be able to do. Hopefully not.

However, I also have to smile at some of the people posting here about how fortunate we are that we have them (I agree), but yet I sometimes have had a terrible time selling games like you mentioned in your post when I have offered them on this site over the years. At face value.

Go figure. [winking]

(And before anyone criticizes that I only go to "the big games"........not true. I go to many of the lesser games, but have the need to sell from time to time.)

Call me a Rupp fair weather fan. Over the years, I have sat all over Rupp, now if I can't get lower arena seats, you will find me parked in my recliner in front of my 45" HDTV.

If watching UK play basketball does not excite you at all times...maybe you should just give up your season tickets permanently? People like you amuse the hell out of me.

With the ticket exchange that UK offered (starting last season), I didn't have as much trouble as some previous seasons. Of course I'm sure the team we had last season had a lot to do with that as well. :)

I do have people that I will generally offer them to before I would post them here, but sometimes I have a game or two that no one takes. If that's the case, I can send you an email. My seats are Sec. 215, Row N.

You can leave your email here if you'd like.

I might have asked you before, but do you hear the obnoxious guy and his wife that have to yell at everything? The old bat booed a heart recipient during a timeout because it wasn't basketball related.

You do realize 300 bucks for 6 games of ANYONE is a bargain, right? Especially if they are lower uppers.

[laughing] Absolutely. It gets pretty embarassing. Especially when there are fans of the opponent sitting anywhere near, which is fairly frequent.

Sometimes you just have to shake your head.

I've apologized to opposing fans because the guy just needlessly rips into them for cheering for their team. And it's not like it's obnoxious cheering.

I wear headphones every game now and blast the radio broadcast. They almost make me dread going to games.

Upper Arena season ticket prices are quickly approaching a tipping point. I'd rather spend $1900 by buying Lower Arena seats to a couple of nice SEC weekend games off of StubHub and using the rest to travel to a big neutral site game or an SEC Tournament.

I am quite comfortable watching the rest of the games on the big-screen at home.

I did not think that the Blue White game was included with the season tickets. I do not think it has been in the past. If I am mistaken I am sure UKWildcats#8 will correct me and question the type of fan that does not know that information.

why do you want to purchase expired, used tickets? especially at those prices. i know it was a historical season, but damn. i'll sell you my stubs for 75% off that. let me know.
