2011 World Series

Just finished watching the replay of game 6. I remember watching the game like it was yesterday. As a cards fan, I don’t I’ve ever experienced such highs and lows in a matter of 2 innings. Still the best baseball game is World Series history to me.

That was a roller coaster of a night. Still get goosebumps watching it all happen again. Doubt my fandom ever peaks as high as that World Series run did.... from the September heroics, to the NLDS, to watching Pumols hit those 3 homers in person in Dallas, to Game6/7 and a championship.... not sure how else I’m going to top that, other than an MSU national championship.

I was getting nervous watching that even knowing the outcome.

Haha I know. There is a pitch that Berkman takes in the 10th that is inside and a ball but it’s close enough to possibly be called a strike, and the damn pitch still made me think I can’t believe he took it.

Man I didn’t realize it was being reaired. By far the craziest game I ever watched. I’ve always wondered if Buck had thought about it prior to the fact that if the Cards walked it off that he would use a version of his dads ‘91 “We will see you tomorrow night” call or if he played it off the cuff.

I’ve heard announcers say that they never try to anticipate a call because you end up butchering it as that’s not what got them to the level they’re at. Either way it was a fitting ending to a fantastic night. David Freese will never have to buy another beer in St. Louis. Unless he’s like Big and Little Enos Burdette and wants a Coors.

Note to self, if you want to check a spelling using Google, be careful typing “Big and Little Ennis”

Best baseball game I think I have ever seen in my life. Glad the good guys won. That was also the first World Series I ever went to- but I was at Game one and I watched Game six on TV. Still some cool memories.

Feel sorry if there are any Texas Ranger / MSU fans out there. It's was a hard decade of runner up finishes.
