I'm still nervous watching that shot lol... All I remember from that game is watching it, directly in front of the screen, and when he missed, I threw the remote and ran outside screaming... such an amazing game. But TBH, I still say Duke played down, and didnt play the way they played all year. Or like Coach K said, should have won by 8-10 points.

That was great! Thanks for sharing! I still don’t like watching that last shot because I still get chills thinking it’s going to go in. It’s like when you’re a little kid and watch a movie over and over and are still surprised by the ending even though you’ve already seen it a dozen times.

Good to see Zoubek doing that interview. He drove me crazy his first couple years, but his development is why my screen name is what it is. Fear The Beard. Brian Zoubek. Duke loses that game if it wasn’t for him in the last 13 seconds.

Cool vid, SoCol. You know, I must be the only person in the world that thought that shot wasn't that close. I mean when it was in the air (you never know), but as it hit the backboard so violently (surprised the glass didn't shatter) and then slammed hard against the rim and came rocketing off with absolutely no chance of getting inside the rim...no hanging on the rim...no rolling around the rim...no omg moment at all to me. I only found out that everyone thought that Duke was so incredibly lucky, and that Butler got robbed of immortality only after talking to others after the game.

Now that shot of Grayson's...that was a shot I could roll around in my mind forever...truly don't know how it didn't stay down. And yet, it doesn't come close to being brought up like the Butler shot. But then again, I do understand...everyone wanted Duke to lose so badly...they wished so hard...they even had to make it seem like this shot was so incredibly close to going in...but physics disagreed.
TOO BAD, SUCKERS, we're still the damn 2010 Champs, and you're not!

I never have (until that moment) and most likely never will again question coach K, but missing that FT intentionally was a terrible call. Almost cost us #4!

Yep. I still don't understand it, either. I mean, I get what he's saying, but I disagree.

And he would have been ripped (and still would be ripped) had Hayward's shot gone down.

Never seen that video before, but I got chills reliving that game. I was so excited, I was running around the house. Love that team and that game. Its really one of those that I think I'll never get tired of, and will be nervous right up until the buzzer goes off.

That was one point where I was wondering ... what is K thinking??... I remember watching that game with my dad and screaming for joy as Hayward's shot didn't go in. I lost my voice that night for a few days but the smile is still on my face lol!

great video......hayward getting the rebound so easily is what triggered it all imo....guessing the hopes were that there would have been a favorable carem off the rim, a lucky bounce to a dukie, some panic...then ballgame...that was truly a great game...and our friends say we were gifted....PAC12 Champs Cali, Purdue minus Hubble, but still good, very good and athletic Baylor team almost in their backyard iirc, Big East champ and Kentucky slayer WVU, and then Cinderella

I thought that at first, but with hindsight being 20/20, Butler and their coach were kinda good. They played for the title again the following year and sent some players to the NBA. Also, their coach wasn’t half bad either. Today, I don’t feel like Duke played down. We were THE only team to score 60+ points on Butler throughout the tournament. That team was pretty good.

Sky's what was the payout to the refs in this game?
Don't let this leave this board. That was a few years ago and it was $10,000.00 our official and we still just about lost it. I'm not going to give a figure about what they are wanting for the biG games but it is a WHOLE LOT more. I don' t want unc nation to know because they will try to out bid us. They have the funds to pay it. They are willing to do anything to keep their basketball team competitive. Daggum cheatin' dirtbags. ;) OFC

Also, no one has mentioned it, but that was essentially a home game for Butler. The championship game was only played about 4 or 5 miles from their campus. I'm proud that our guys took them down in their own backyard. No easy thing to do.

Just arrange to meet the refs in a classroom at UNC to drop off the payment. That way you don’t have to worry about running into any UNCheater fans, players, or coaches.

I loved that 2010 team. Kyle Single was a mega warrior. I think I had a man crush on him. OFC

Singler was a beast. If we’re being honest though, that whole team was. Not very talented but, absolutely relentless and had tons of heart. My personal favorite squad. I still remember people saying Baylor was too big, too strong, too athletic, WVU was too good and deserved our 1 seed, etc.. Those guys never let it get to them though, and gave us one heart-stopping Natty.
