For comparison. Michigan has 5 first teamers. 6 overall. Iowa had a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd.
The 2018 All-Big Ten Defense as selected by #B1GFootball coaches.

Yep and there’s a rumor that Lamar Jackson wants to leave? Although he improved immensely, he still didn’t even get honorable mention. Another year will boost his stock.

He isn't going anywhere. Frost and Co. will refer him to a draft analysis that shows he has nowhere to go but "up" with a solid Sr. Season.

Needs to run. I don't see him running 4.65 right now. No way.

Who is better than Martinez at 2nd behind Haskins?

Penn State QB.

Who cares? Martinez is what he is...a BEAST!

Someone said it in a thread earlier, his stats compare to the true freshman Clemson QBs in a favorable way, and that kid throws harder than anybody in the country, a 5 star Pro Style, #1 overall rated recruit, whose team will be in the CFB Playoffs.

WGAS what the media thinks about Martinez. We know what we got. GBR

Not a chance, McSorley put up less than stellar numbers this year.

Less than stellar numbers. I still think it will be Martinez over Thorson and McSorley as neither of those are in his league as a Freshman.

Dude, records matter. Winning matters.

Jesus Nebraska has fallen that far into the dumpster.

I just hope Frost can save it. Nobody else has a chance in hell. He's the last hope.

I hope not. He actually turned into a pretty decent corner last year. Could have a great year next year if we find a pass rush.

Those Michigan selections were well deserved. Many will be drafted in the first couple of rounds in the draft.

People want to know what's wrong with our defense?

Two third team all big 10 defensive players in 2018 listed above.

Zero all big 10 defensive players in 2017. Zero first, second, third string. Zero honorable mentions.

One all big 10 defensive player in 2016 (Nate Gerry, 2nd or 3rd string)

One all big 10 defensive player in 2015 (Maliek Collins, 2nd or 3rd string)

Blame recruiting. Blame development. Blame whatever. You don't have the horses, you're not going to win the race.

And people wonder why the D is lacking?? Lol. Those numbers won't cut it. Need more 1st and 2nd team playmakers in the future.

You do realize that these awards are also a function of the defense being put in a position to succeed, right? If you're coached to stay 10 yards off the ball when it's 4th and 7 or 8, that doesn't exactly get it done. And that is ultimately on the coaches for the player not knowing where he should have been.

That helps but that doesn't turn Freedom into Randy Gregory. Young into Lavonte David or Mick into Suh. Playmakers make plays. Need more studs on D. Period

Every defense can use more studs. But even for studs to make plays they have to be in position to make those plays. The best pass rushers in the world are not going to get to the Qb if they bull rush every single play. Best LB's in the world are not going to make plays if the group in front of them allow the OL they are playing against to get to them easily. The best DBs in the world are not going to make plays if they are 15 yards off the line of scrimmage when 8 yards is needed for a first down or TD. I can go on but can tell you that the better a defense is as a team the more it appears you have studs playing on that defense! Those players are named to the all conference team.

Pretty sad that we didn't do more with that 2012 talent than what we did.

Ozigbo and JD on 3rd as well probably.
Nebraska was shut out of first-team honors, but a potent offense under first-year head coach Scott Frost yielded several offensive all-conference honorees.

Senior receiver Stanley Morgan was a second-team All-Big Ten pick by both the league's coaches and media, while receiver JD Spielman was a consensus third-team pick.

Senior running back Devine Ozigbo was a third-team pick by the media and honorable mention for the coaches.

Morgan, of course, became the first 1,000-yard receiver in Nebraska history during the final game of his Husker career last week against Iowa. He finished the season with 1,004 yards on 70 catches (14.3 per reception) and hauled in seven touchdowns.

In his final two seasons, each of which reset the single-season benchmark in yardage at NU, Morgan racked up 1,990 yards and 17 scores. He finishes his career as Nebraska's all-time leader in both catches (189) and yards (2,747).

Spielman is on the list for the second straight year. He finished with 818 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 66 catches and set the single-game NU school record with 209 yards against Wisconsin on Oct. 6.

All B1G offense is out. Stanley, JD, and Devine made it.
Jaimes, Martinez, and Wilson made Honorable Mention.
