Yeah NW left the door wide open and NU chose to crash into the wall anyway. As soon as Mayen gave the ball to Trey I knew they were toast.

Two possessions, zero passes, 2 reckless drives and zero points. No coaching there.
I thought Fred was known for designing plays for these situations but that hasn't happened, we just look confused mostvof the time. It was disappointing to see these kids turn things around and then go back to their selfish ways to the end the season.

Many disagree but Fred is not the answer. Sure we had 3-4 good games but most of the season and his tenure has been a cluster.

Is hoiberg the worst mayor in America?

tough short list to crack, but he’s well on his way

The worst possession was Verge going full Verge driving with his head down in to two defenders when he has TWO 3 point threats wide open on the wings..... Sigh. It doesn't matter. That was going to be it for us no matter what. Bryce clearly was hampered by his wrist and the refs were blowing a whistle any time Trey breathed on anybody.

I don't blame Trey so much for his last drive. That's his game and I thought he got fouled on the shot attempt and there weren't a lot of options as the clock was nearing zero. I might have rather had him stop and pop but it's a split second decision on his part. Verge on the other hand had 10 seconds to find an open guy. HERO ball at it's best. They battled at least. Northwestern just came out and played better that second half and it seemed like they were getting every call from the zebras. Our guys were getting knocked on their *** under the boards and on drives and not getting a whistle. It's kind of what I expected after that Wisconsin game.

That is what bad teams do. They get motivated at random times, play well in a couple game spurts, then go back to who they ultimately are. If all it takes is a couple games in a row of decent play after months of not giving a damn, then college coaches everywhere should have the job security of a bureaucratic *** kisser working for a senator.

We blew too many easy opportunities that added up and bit us in the end. Mayen fumbling an easy layup, Trey blowing a 2-on-1 earlier, Andre freaking tipping a missed free throw into their basket for 2, and so on.

We also seemed to relax coming out in the 2nd half which blows my mind. Would have liked to see more Wilcher in for Bryce as well. Whatever season's over.

So what's next now that the season is over? Is Fred firing any assistants? Who will transfer? Tominaga, Edwards would be my guesses.
