It's hard to make too many assumptions from a scrimmage in August where 2 starters didn't play and our 6th man got injured in the first minute. The team is obviously not going to be in mid-season form yet, but there were two things that I saw that I really liked.

1) Assuming Zion starts at the 4, we will have 4 starters who can legitimately get a rebound and then run the break in transition. Tre, Cam, RJ, and Zion can all run the break and either score themselves or create and find the open guy.

2) Zion plays hard. His most impressive play to me was the one right before the half where RJ airballed a 3, but Zion saved it going out of bounds and had the presence of mind to get it to Javin right under the basket for the easy dunk as time expired.

ZIon is a MUCH better passer than I anticipated. RJ can dish the rock too. Once this team gels together, the sky is the limit.
Do you think this year's team will be better than last year's team?

We got 3 guys hurt, 2 before the game, 1 within a minute of the 1st game in August is my damn observation. Screw the rest

Do you think this year's team will be better than last year's team?
By January, definitely. However I do think this team will look sloppier out of the gate than last year's, mainly due to less experience and the preseason injury bug.

A few reasons....
1. Our PG play should be better this year, plain and simple.
2. Our best players will be our wings, last year's best players were the 2 bigs. It's 2018, basketball is a guard/wing game, the big-man is outdated. Not to mention, you can neutralize elite bigs by fronting/double teaming etc. (See the Kansas game for an example), good luck trying to neutralize RJ, Cam, and Zion.
3. Our defense should be much better and we should be able to play pressure man-to-man. We have a bunch of lengthy athletic wings, not a bunch of slow bigs. We should really be able to switch everything and not miss a beat, possibly Bolden's best attribute is he can guard all the way out to the 3 point line. Javin should be an outstanding man-to-man switch defender as well.
4. The GOAT is hungry for another title.

Zion is unselfish and dominant at the same time. 29,13,4,2,2 and zero turnovers. That’s effort and awareness. Tre, Alex, Barrett, Cam and Zion will be unstoppable. They will run teams off the floor.

you could also start Bolden, DeLaurier, White, or Goldwire on any night depending on the need of the team
