I'm a strong believer in that 2019 class and how it will turn this program around. It'll take time but it will happen.

Next year I bet we see sophomores and a junior as team captains.

This is the mentality that the MR guys lack or most of them anyways.

I am pumped that Damian Jackson got a blackshirt. He may not see a lot of playing time....but I have read he has taken on a significant leadership role.....meeting one-on-one with players who need some calling out. Great call by Riley for seeing the benefit of having him on the team.

There's the heart that has been missing from our leaders, well deserved keep setting the bar high and working hard.

Given out..... In the title of the thread. I am not attempting to edit or place my words into someone else's keyboard, but I would like to add the word EARN in there somewhere. These two gentlemen have earned a Blackshirt; not by starting every snap on defense, but by laying it on the line both in between whistles and off the field reminiscent of the ideals in mind when using the term Blackshirt (in my biased opinion).

so, like, what a good OLB in a 3-4 does?

Exactly
..I'm saying he would have a easier time at that DE.

If all he does is play near the line of scrimmage.

Then he is liability on defense and shouldn't be playing..that's why he ends up defending wrs.

Cause his role is predictable

As the OP

I love what you said here...they earned it.

Personally, I like this kid and what he represents to the football team. However, if he and Frost start policing the Dorms for miscreants and vagabonds after hours like The Inquisition, I don't like it so much.

Culture is an interesting thing. Frost is developing a new one. Very, very slippery slope.

I just hope these kids have "fun" playing football again. When I see that and I see us laying hats on folks, well, call me optimistic.

Pretty sure there is a message being sent here. I hope like hell an ex seal is calling out those who need it. If he reacted the way some of these guys on the team seem to when adversity hits he probably would not have come home.

Agree.

But this isn't fighting Isis.

Keep it fun Frost.

Anybody calling out anybody for not doing real work is a good thing.

Pretty sure a few guys did that at Nebraska for YEARS, and they weren't SEALs.

If there are any dudes who are sandbaggin hotshots, and can't take it when the bright lights shine on them, then they need to move on and be playing tennis or go do some other single athlete sport.

Personally I'd rather see football players out there anyway.

I can’t wait to add Blaise Gunnerson on the opposite side of G Nelson and C Tannor and then have Nick Henrichs and Jackson Hannah handling the ILB spots. For the future we got a solid starting 4/5 LB (N Henrichs, J Hannah, G Nelson, C Tannor and B Gunnerson), but we need to make sure we add some quality back ups for them. Maybe Snodgrass, J. Graham, M Newsom and D Alston and a few other guys we add will add quality backs ups for those guys?

It is easier to whine and cry than actually look at the challenges. It must be a stress free life to be that way as it requires zero mental lifting...
He's been on the 2 deep all year. I think he has played in 4ish games so far.
