A nice showing against Illinois would do a lot for momentum.. The West is for sure still attainable .. GBR!!
I wish she’d turn around.
1) It’s who was on the schedule.
2) We played well.
3). They have been good in recent years and have beat a number of P5 teams, including us.
Funny, I kept seeing that the Huskers could lose to NIU. That same NIU team that came close to beating 11th ranked Utah. And who gives a F_ck. We are still 2-1 so he’s dead on.

Exactly, NIU is like Troy. Those guys are like a power 5 team. There’s a reasons why those guys have won against a bunch of BIG 10 teams. And this year NIU almost had number 11 Utah. Beating NIU 44-8 is no small task.

NIU was down 7 at the half at Utah last week And lost 35-17. But now that Nebraska blew their doors off....they suck. Ok.
Funny how that works huh??? That’s exactly the point I was trying to make. NIU is no cupcake team and definitely no push over. Our Huskers just came out with a fire and ready to play.
Well, look how they played vs S Alabama. Would you have preferred another showing like that?
1. Struggled against S Alabama
2. Lost to a terrible Colorado
3. Looked good against a N. Illinois.
I'm far from saying bring on Clemson or Bama, just saying.
And there isn’t on person saying that. But beating a very solid NIU isn’t a small task either. What that does is show we are progressing. When that same NIU team takes it to the number 11 team in the country...that does show progress.
I don't think many of us feel that way, either (Clemson/Alabama). However, I think last night was encouraging and what we needed to see out of them, heading into conference play. If they came out and laid another egg, vs NIU, at home (night game) and with NIU coming off a physical road game vs a good Utah team; I think it would have been very fair to amp up the concern level.
I feel better about them as a whole. However, Iowa and Wisc still look like the class of the West. If they can sustain this type of effort the rest of the season, I think 7-8 wins and a decent bowl game are back in play.
Not one person on here or in person would be mad if you bacame a bandwagon fan for ANY other team in the country! Not one
A team that’s gone to a Bowl game 12 of the last 15 years? Do you watch college football or are you too busy creating new accounts on rivals to troll Nebraska fans to actually watch football?

I know the offense seems to have taken a step back (only for the moment, hopefully), but I’m so damn happy our defense isn’t incredibly embarrassing anymore. They actually stopped the run in three straight games. That hasn’t happened in years.
They are leading the conference in forced turnovers with nine. The next team has 6. They are gang tackling. Flying to the ball. Chins system has actually started to show and that’s fantastic.
Frost will get the offense figured out. O-lines aren’t built in a year or three. And the cavalry is coming (seriously, when’s the last time we had more than 3 tackle bodies on the entire roster, much less in a class - followed up by another big tackle in the next class?).
There is progress happening. We aren’t going to be 4-8 to conference champs in three years. Things are moving in the right direction. Now we need a road win.
