Did you really think things were going to change 180 in 2 or 3 weeks? The penalties killed us. I still believe in MJ.......not for sure about Whipple.
When you’re not used to winning and none of these kids are, you do dumb things when emotion gets involved and you can’t control yourself.
2ndly, we seem to not know how to call offensive plays with a lead. That’s apparent. Whip should pry stay in the locker room for the 2nd half and practice combing whats left of his hair. He can pass the comb through it as many times as he can within running his hands through it one time.
I do like that Mickey said that the kids were doing stupid things that were costing the team. Call em out Mick. But also, take charge. Passing and going 5 wide on 3rd and 2 is stupid to allow period. He should correct that.
Why do we not have a package for Smothers? That is dumb. Whip still hasn’t figured out how to control a game clock. Doubt he will in his 1 year here. But Mickey, if he really wants this job, should actually correct that crap. It’s his only shot to reign in this offense and run the ball.
Indiana should’ve never had the option to have the ball back when it was 21-14 but Whip thought he’d dial up ole Scotty-2-Arrogant on the sideline and coach 7 on 7 again. Can someone give him a heads up that there’s another team playing defense and not our abysmal defense out there like our practices. Jesus. Hopefully Mick will tell him that at the break.
Oh and someone tell Nelson to calm it down. He’s out there pirouetting in the first quarter and then the ball carrier goes by him for a Td late in the half cuz he never plays with leverage. Remember the whole “everyone just has to do your job” speech he gave after Northwestern? Well, that was good. Nice job. Forget the dance moves and work on your game, cuz right now, it’s not very good.
Buckle up for the 2nd, with ole Whip throwing every down, it could take 3 hours to play this next 30 min folks. Jeezips!
