I do agree that Chinander is a liability and that Frost will have to fire a friend to realize his potential at Nebraska

Silver lining is that the team can see what a real top 5 team looks like. Playing a better team is good practice for the rest of the season, barring injuries.

Frost has a weird history w NU:

Hated by fans when he chose Stanford
Loved by fans when he transferred to NU
Hated by fans when he had bad losses in 1996
Loved by fans when he wins the Natty in 1997
Now???

Here is the problem. Nebraska football is no longer a national brand and can't successfully recruit outside of their geographic region. They also have no major metro areas to draw from. Its not the 90's any more and this is not the Big 8. Time to adjust your expectations. 7-5 and bowl eligibility is probably the best you will be able to hope for most years. There is no way you will be ever sniffing the top ten, let alone the playoffs unless they expand it to 128 teams. Remember firing your coach (Solich) that only went 9-3...yeah that probably won't happen again. Like ever.

This is not surprising. South Alabama was in the game. Illinois should have won and Colorado did win. We are NOT a good football team. Hopefully a year or two of great recruiting will change things. Ohio st is just far superior to us in every way.

Lol man, the optimism is cute, but this team is trash. Not sure they'd win eight games in CUSA

You are being reactionary. I assume that there is alcohol involved which is of course totally fine.

Northwestern, @Minnesota, @ Indiana, @Purdue (w/o Moore?) and @ Maryland

That’s not some murderer’s row. We have to improve to get there but the overreaction yo an *** whooping is in full effect.

Totally sober. You must not have watched this team this year & last. They are a bad football team. Massive talent deficiency, no power 5 depth at key positions. They will lose many more games this year. This will murder their confidence.

Yet another idiot comes in. We just had the #15 class in the nation after going 4-8, you complete f*cktard. Now find a great deal on cyanide and do the right thing..

They are right now. They were a bad team when they played Michigan last season. They got A LOT better. Give them a chance. Sheesh!

This is one of the dumbest posts I ever wasted my time reading. If NU weren't a national brand, then how do they get Gameday in Lincoln? NU went 4-8 last year and has not played well at all this year. There is no other reason other than the fact that NU is still a national brand.

The problem is that teams like Minnesota, Indiana, MD, also got better and have probably passed us. NW bitched us last year too. This team reeks of loserdom.

We're still a national brand. The problem is we keep trying to be a Pac-12 team instead of a Big Ten team. Wisconsin is doing just fine, by doing what we used to do.

Do you think that Ohio State had anything to do with Gameday coming to Lincoln? The NU team this year certainly wouldn't attract Gameday. I think you need another QB other than #2. I read during the summer that your fans thought you had a Heisman candidate at QB.....did he get hurt? I doubt that #2 is any where near a Heisman candidate. However, the first year QB for Ohio State did look like a Heisman candidate.

This game did show NU how they compare to a national type team. Time for reality check with your fans.
