She has improved by a large margin from a just a year ago. Her poise and control does not reflect that of a freshman. Still hasn’t allowed a run as she didn’t pitch the 7th against ACR. Swain and Murphy will have a say though. Both are good ball teams. One thing about it, Billy schedules as tough a non conference as he can to help prepare the ladies. They are extremely fun to watch.
Enka @ Robbinsville Wednesday at 5pm. The 11th and 15th ranked teams in the state. Should be a good one!
I don’t know much about 1A solfball but according to Max Preps they have Robbinsville ranked 2 in the 1A State and Millenium Charter Academy ranked 1 in 1A. Millenium Charter Academy is from Mt Airy N.C. A school I never heard of until now. Max Preps has Fall Lake number 12 and they are from Creedmoor, N.C.

Not sure of Millenium successes in the past in softball, but the school has been in existence at least 10 years.
From a friend that used to live in Surry County (and their kids attended other schools).
The school itself has been around since 2000 or 2001, but started as K-5. The school phased in high school grades starting around 2014. Baseball and Softball were added 2017-2018. They have no idea if they were ever good in sports as their kids were gone by that time.
North Surry and East Surry used to have good softball teams so I wonder if some of those kids are now going to Millennium?
Vik, I'm only seeing them playing one game on MaxPreps and trying to google their schedule, their own school doesn't have one listed. I also don't see them in the playoff bracket.
Side note, I see Robbinsville is playing Bethany Community out of Summerfield, NC (just north of Greensboro). That's a nice 4+ hour drive in a car.
From what I saw they defeated Falls Lake 10-0. But not sure who they got next.
The Lady Knights are rolling right now. What does Bethany bring to the table?
I don’t know anything about this team other than they are 18-5. 6-0 in conference. If I was to pick I like Robbinsville in this series. Best of luck to Lady Knights.
I see in 2A West #3 Swain Co will be at #2 Roxboro Community. Tarheel50 you probably know good bit about Swain Co. I’m nowhere up in the mountain areas. But looks like Swain has had a good season. And #4 Starmount will be at #1 South Stanly. Deana King who is up in that area. Deana what’s your thoughts about this Starmount game.

Swain is experienced. Pitching is decent. It all comes down to how they hit.
Robbinsville won big last night 11-1. I looked at their schedule and they only have two losses. They lost to Kings Mountain (4-0), who is playing in 6A western finals. Their other loss was to Enka (12-2, but they also beat them 5-0 earlier in the season). Enka is also playing in the 5A western finals.
Robbinsville beat Kings MTN 11-1 and Enka 5-0 then lost to both and almost lost to murphy 2-1.
The freshman Pitcher was out during those games.
Knights are undefeated with her and only Enka played them close. 5-0.

In 2A South Stanly won over Roxboro 5-3 last night and Roxboro won over South Stanly 6-5 tonight. They will meet again for game #3.

Is the NCHSAA still doing the Wells Fargo Cup (best performance statewide by an athletic program)? Robbinsville should be in a good position to take it in 1A if they are. Runner up in football and girl's hoops, championship in wrestling duals, and 1&2 in men's and women's track. If softball makes it to the state finals, it's hard to imagine any other school having that many championship appearances this year.
Not bad for a school with 300 kids! Our softball team is stuck in Greensboro waiting on game 2 which should’ve been played Wednesday, but that’s a story for another day. The weather isn’t looking good for today either.
