Just a few of the highlights from BG @ Northside, Northside doesn't have the size of Wilson Prep up front (big but slow) but they do have the speed and athleticism to contain WP's backfield, which is very predictable. And WP's defense is their Achilles heel IMO. Northside will run around their big front and through their secondary.

Simmons has Wilson Prep by 8. I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than that. With that said, I hope I am wrong. I would love to see Northside win, I just think that difficult schedule has helped Wilson Prep.

Wilson prep will be the best team Northside has played up until this point. Not the case for prep. I think Prep has played 6 teams already that are better than Northside. They still have to play tonight but I think Prep is a little more battle tested.

Exactly. Maybe Northside can slow the game down, and have long sustained drives to keep the prep offense off of the field.

Just about all of this is untrue lol. Yes, WP is kinda predictable and the line might be slow, but when you're big and athletic enough to open up holes, speed isn't that big of a deal. And with the holes they're gonna open up, Ns's speed and athleticism won't contain WP's backfield. I don't see Ns running around and through them enough to outscore WP either. Ns has run through a soft schedule, especially in the playoffs. Hobgood Charter and Bear Grass Charter are no comparison to SE Halifax and KIPP Pride in the 1A world.
I have WP in a near blowout.

True. But the only notable win WP has is over Farmville Central, and that's considering how deep they've gone in the playoffs. Though they did have worthy performances in losses against some bigger teams, their defense got exposed by SCPA who put up 40 points against them. Northside has the #3, #11 and #24 backs in 1A. They all average 10-15ypc, doesn't matter who gets the ball. They're bigger and faster than WP's backfield from what I've seen. WP just has those 3 big hogs up front! It also wouldn't surprise me to see Northside drop back and pass a few times. Quarterback has a pretty good arm with a 60% completion percentage and enough speed to get out of the pocket if necessary, They just haven't utilized his passing on the season much (haven't really needed to and they've never been a passing team, ever). I think they might tonight. It's going to be a good game either way and I will congratulate WP if they win!

My point is that if Wilson Prep played Northsides schedule they would be undefeated too. Northside gave up 33 points to East Carteret and 34 to Washington. Both of those teams are not very good. Did Northsides defense get exposed against them?

I don't disagree with that statement! But Prep lost to Greene Central 30-8, a team I'm pretty sure Northside might have handled TBH. SCPA lost to KIPP 50-0 during the regular season. My point is that WP has chinks in their armor that can and hopefully will be exposed tonight. Either way someone is gonna eat crow :ROFLMAO:

Edit - There's something bigger at play here that the rest of the NC football community doesn't realize. Northside was formed from the closure of two area schools, Bath High School and John A. Wilkerson (Belhaven) high school in 1989. If you go back to the 1981 and 1982 seasons, you'll see that these two teams made their only state championship appearances.... against Robbinsville. Both lost in back to back years. Belhaven lost 60-0 and Bath lost by 1 or 2 scores. Long story short, those players are the grandfathers of the current players and EVERYONE WANTS ROBBINSVILLE! WP is just in the way!

This is true. We deal with that every year. Every year someone "wishes" to play us, and they end up being disappointed. Ironically enough, it was Wilson Prep last year begging for us.
Y'all just stay up there in 2A and leave us alone. We had the smoke, don't want anymore. So glad we're in different conferences and divisions now :ROFLMAO:

All i can say is handle your business and will try and handle ours then you can come get us
You guys will handle S. Davidson no doubt. And I mean no disrespect to Robbinsville, your storied history speaks for itself! Northside has established a winning program over the last decade and tonight is probably the most important game in the schools history behind the state championship losses in 2000 against a much bigger Graham and a few years ago against a tough Murphy team. It's about that time!

Northside - 8

Wilson Prep - 8

End of 1st

Prep scored first with 5 minutes to go in the 1st, Northside answered next drive. We might have a game on our hands!

After hanging right there in the first half, Wilson has pulled away from Northside in the second half to a 50-22 blowout. You guys were right! Northside just didn't have enough. Congrats to WP and good luck to Robbinsville!
