I know it is super early but Highschoolot playoff projections has Wilson Prep in the west along with East Columbus. That is crazy!!

Not enough East teams to move both to the West IMO. But we will see what the NCHSAA does. I would think the closest may be moved to balance it out.

East Columbus plays west a LOT. I can't understand it. Of all the eastern teams to move west, they chose one of the easternmost teams repeatedly.

Imagine what would be like if a program like Robbinsville had to travel to Wilson Prep one week and have to travel to program like East Columbus the following week. From last year the longest trip was East Columbus traveling all the way up the Mountains to Robbinsville.

Northside has built a really nice program. I would love for them to represent the east in 1A.

They really have, I'm proud of them. They were very strong in the late 90's early 00's but their 2020's run has been special.

Tbh considering that Craddock and coach Boyd at Northside are good friends I wouldn't be shocked if that happened.

I was at Northside in 2000 when they made the state championship against Graham and got torched. That team was probably the best we ever had though in terms of athletes, they almost broke the single season state rushing record, had two 2,000 yard rushers. Quite a few games with 600-800 total yards. Then they just folded against Graham. One mistake turned into an entire game of mistakes.

I’ve seen a couple places that have Wilson prep in the west. That would open the door wide open for Northside
