Watching North Carolina Tennessee finals, I am reminded of the depressing 1989 regional at Starkville. We would have been the number one or number two seed in Omaha, but blew the regional that year and let north Carolina win. Lost the Winners bracket game to a left-hander on Saturday who had only a one and two record and was not one of their regular starters. Guy named Hogue, I believe. Have never gotten over that regional. I remember John Cohen hitting a line drive off the right field fence about 1 foot below the top of the fence. If the ball had cleared, it would have driven in two runs and we never would have lost that game. We had won the overall SEC championship that year and had a 54-14 record.

Such is our life. I guess Florida state has outdone us in the disappointment department though.
