Rich Brunson came up to me at the Maryland game. Rich was a freshman when I was a senior. He told me that he was told that only John Battle, himself and Chris Remley were going to attend on Sunday, which is a not a great turnout. Hopefully, more will be end up attending.

Rich has always been a great guy and was an outstanding player. He is the head coach of the women at Brookdale.

Best of Luck,
Groz

IIRC Chris Remley had an out of his mind game at Brendan Byrne Arena to best Notre Dame single handedly. I don't know he scored 100 or 200 points, something crazy🤣

Funny how the mind plays tricks.
Battle 23 points. Remley only 2 buckets but one was the game winner.

still have the dvd of that game somewhere

the tv broadcast was done by the Notre Dame announcers.

When Remley got freed up to hit the last shot, you could hear one of the announcers go, uh-oh, as he prepared to shoot

and, on another not relevant in any way note.....

. I buy snow skiing equipment at Mt Everest ski shop in Westwood....they ran a commercial in the beginning of the game...... so, about a month ago when I was there, I text a copy of the commercial to the staff there who were interested in seeing what they did back in 1983-84

The ND was the next season ….

The 1983 team was good …and the loss to 1 seeded St. John’s in the second Round was tough…Hinson was playing on a ankle or leg injury …and we beat them the year before

The 1982 team which was the same team as 1983 except no darrius Griffin (and Rich Brunson missed a lot of season with illness) was the team with crazy wins, beating top 10 UCLA and West Virginia , beating St. John’s with a frosh named Mullin , lost to THAT UNC team …if the ncaa was 64, it would have got an at large bid…..

Rutgers clawed back from a big hole. Lots of subway fans left dejectedly from Byrne Arena. We ran into Remley at the Knight Club a couple of hours after the game. A heck of a night!
Did the same!! Was that the Mike Brown inserted to block the inbounds play? Or was that UCLA game? Brilliant move by Tom Young. Always guard the inbounds.

Was it 82-83 where we beat UCLA at the Brendan Byrne Arena (or was it the Garden?) when they had 2 7+ footers on their roster?

Boy, that year we would have gone deeper into the tournament if Hinson didn't get a groin injury.

No 81-82. Hinson was a junior that year. Mark Eaton sat on the bench for that UCLA team. Stuart Gray was other 7 footer on team and took one shot and Roy sent the ball like 5 rows into the stands.

Chris Remly was the last pick in the NBA draft. He was said to be a fantastic shooter in practice.
