Looks to me like soft tissue. If you can stand to watch it again, look at his calf muscle bulging. That looks like a complete Achillies Tendon tear. Probably everything else down there that can tear too.

Put that on the producer making her say something. She isn't a doc nor has a doc fully examined him. That will take a day or two. There are a dozen or more things that could be bad there. he is just doing her best.

theisman broke his tib/fib. I wouldn’t say “this is nothing like Theisman”. Lots of moving parts, ligaments in the ankle. That being said, advances in what surgeons are able to do now vs 1985 are significant.
