No, they'll franchise tag him if they can't come to an agreement. The only way Dak would become a FA is if he struggled so bad the rest of the year that Jerry and Stephen decide that they wanted to start over and trade up for a QB AND make the decision in the spring that they're turning the reins over to the rook.

For real, there are saint fans have ripped into drew Brees for years. If Drew Brees isn't above crazy fans being critical, dak certainly isn't. State fans need to toughen up when it comes to dak... he's an nfl qb, so he'll get way more praise and criticism than he deserves from time-to-time

Breaking news. NFL fans are the same everywhere. The QB is always under the microscope. Just because Dak played at Mississippi State doesn’t make him off limits to criticism.
