lol John is far from a hardcore LiberalThey're hardcore liberals and bring politics into the discussion too often.
Josh Peterson is impossible to listen to - constantly bagging on Nebraska with his Woody Woodpecker laugh.I didn’t listen to the morning show, but the afternoon show has been awful for years. I’d rather listen to Freddie and Harry.
Nailed it.Josh Peterson is impossible to listen to - constantly bagging on Nebraska with his Woody Woodpecker laugh.
I wonder if there is any type of Jay love outside of Omaha and maybe Lincoln.
"Alan Usher, who owns more than a dozen stations throughout Nebraska, said he plans to distribute more of The Zone's sports content — including its live broadcasts of Creighton basketball games — on other stations throughout the state.
He had positive things to say about The Zone's status as the CU rights holder in an arrangement that features Zone talk show host John Bishop as the Jays' play-by-play voice.
He said he expects some of The Zone's Creighton-focused content to play well in central and western Nebraska, though those regions are often associated more with Nebraska."
A Jaysker businessman from Grand Island bought 1620 and a dozen other Nebraska stations, he wants to spread Creighton propaganda across the state.
I don’t think anybody outside of West Omaha wants that

Maybe a better question would be how many advertisers based in the western half of the state are willing to spend ad dollars on this?I wonder if there is any type of Jay love outside of Omaha and maybe Lincoln.
I know we have some central and western Nebraska residents, are the Jays even a thing out there?

Does anything scream loser like listening to sports radio
Or caring what strangers political beliefs are on an anonymous message board about amateur sportsBeing a liberal
I took them off and haven't listened to them since...Glad Sharp is back at it with the OWH. His replacements at 1620 are not great and off my podcast list...Will have to add Pick 6 now. Sharp is a very good listen in my opinion.
Agree. Schaeffer is ok, but Happer is terribly biased and a poor listen. Such a weird move by 1620, but worked out in the end for Sharpy and OWH.I took them off and haven't listened to them since...
So what? But I'll say that in Nebraska politically, this isn't a good move for a sports radio station to make. I thought most radio stations were bought out by national conservative companies. Maybe 1620 is an outlier? On the morning show, happer just announced 1620 is sponsoring and mc’ing Omaha’s gay pride parade. Was hoping companies were moving on from this performative nonsense, and on what planet does a sports talk show think this is a good idea. Maybe ownership is gay?
Hard not to pay attention when they broadcast it during their show.People pay attention to that stuff?
1620 the zone could be sponsored by Ted Bundy and I wouldn't notice or care.
All that matters is if I like the hosts.
It isn't...just think of it like when your wife (best friend) is talking...or when you are talking to her. Neither of you are actually listening.Hard not to pay attention when they broadcast it during their show.
You mean “ignore.” Better analogy would be most posters reactions to your posts. Amiright? It isn't...just think of it like when your wife (best friend) is talking...or when you are talking to her. Neither of you are actually listening.

Looks like you answered your question. So what? But I'll say that in Nebraska politically, this isn't a good move for a sports radio station to make. I thought most radio stations were bought out by national conservative companies. Maybe 1620 is an outlier?
There are not really even any jay fans...they just go to the games to drink and be seen. All Creighton fans are LGBT so it's not surprising they would sponsor the parade
Jay fan here. There are not really even any jay fans...they just go to the games to drink and be seen.
Last week iHeart radio stations purged local radio staff across the country. It’s too bad that many local radio stations everywhere are experiencing financial problems. So the morning show has changed?
Anyone know what happened with the old hosts and stuff?
I would imagine trying to survive off radio ads has got to be tough.Last week iHeart radio stations purged local radio staff across the country. It’s too bad that many local radio stations everywhere are experiencing financial problems.
If they sponsored marriage outside of it being sacramental you'd care.People pay attention to that stuff?

I would LOSE MY MIND!If they sponsored marriage outside of it being sacramental you'd care.![]()
So bad that you take the lgbtq dollars to pretend you are so proud? Did 1620 just realize how proud they are, or have they always supported pride, and are now just coming out of the closet? Wonder if this had something to do with Gary getting the hell out. “Hey Gary, instead of calling balls and strikes tonight at the game, you are going to be seeing balls and dikes at the parade. Here, put on these assless chaps and dog collar and put on some eye liner and go interview the smelly blue-haired “community organizer” and pretend like you have anything in common with them.” How pathetic how far they have fallen.Last week iHeart radio stations purged local radio staff across the country. It’s too bad that many local radio stations everywhere are experiencing financial problems.
I can’t imagine it would be a good move for a sports radio station in any state. So what? But I'll say that in Nebraska politically, this isn't a good move for a sports radio station to make. I thought most radio stations were bought out by national conservative companies. Maybe 1620 is an outlier?
