That was the first game ever broadcast on BTN. Awesomeness.....
I didn't know that.
I do recall being at Beaver Stadium that day (PSU was finishing off a beat down of some pay day opening week opponent), and then joining a big crowd watching on TV as that game unfolded.
Was thinking "NO!!!" when Appy State kicked a FG with time left on the clock - they could have run it down and kicked the game winner with no time left. UM damn near made them pay for that mistake - but in the end the blocked FG was even sweeter.
Apologies for the off-topic response but is the reason that I see nothing here based on the fact that I don't do the Facebook? Or do I have a different (computer-related) problem? e.g., ad blocker
I think the site was slow. I saw nothing for about a minute. Closed and re-opened my iPad and it worked. Go figure
Was in the Club section of Beaver Stadium watching the ending on the TVs with other PSU fans....when the final FG was blocked, you would have thought PSU just won the National Championship.
I use Safari on my iPad, and Facebook videos never work. If they are visible in Safari, they won’t play. To watch the video above, I had to open this thread in Google Chrome.
The Beav was full that day, and just quivered with excitement from all the pounding.
Odd, if so why haven’t I ever seen this game on the BIG Network.
I was at the Stadium that day too. Some fan was all excited by the Michigan loss, I thought it was terrible. When he asked me why, I told him because in a few weeks we are going to lose to a team that lasted to Appalachian State. I still don't think that App State win was good for PSU.
Another person who thinks Michigan or OSU losing is a bad thing for PSU. 
That game was so great. I was standing on the stool at the bar when that happened (had to go there to watch PSU-FIU, on BTN overflow). Years later, I’d work with a guy who was a freshman TE on that App St team. Reminds me I should text him and wish him a happy anniversary.
Funny how we were so fired up for that Michigan loss and then nearly met the same fate years later to App St.

Particularly in the years prior to the playoff the best situation for a college football team to move up in the rankings was to only play unbeaten teams and win. The quality of the opponents and margin of victory mattered.
That was years ago. Doesn’t matter now. Win your games and the rest takes care of itself.
