13-5 in the SEC will do it.

12-6 with either a win over Texas or 2 wins in the SEC tourney might do it too. 12-6 with a loss to Texas and an early loss in the SEC tourney we're probably out.

13-5 in the SEC puts us at either 14-12 or 15-11 depending on the Texas game. I think we have to go 13-5 with a win over Texas and make the conference tournament final. That puts us at 17-12 or 18-11. 11 or 12 Seed at 17-12, probably 9 or 10 seed with SEC tourney win at 18-11.

I think u will see more teams get in this year with bad records than ever before bc of obvious circumstances just as with the football bowls.

Cant rely on that certainly but may play in UKs favor. Here’s to hoping they get in however they can.

Also our strength of schedule will be top 10 and maybe top 5 as well. Kenpom and Sagarin have us at 49 and 52 respectively and that's with as ****** as we've been. NET we're really low right now but the first few NET rankings always seem to be all over the place. If we went 13-5 with a win over Texas and made it to the SEC tournament final we'd be a lock

I'm thinking the magic number is 17 total wins. 16 might work, but I would be sweating

Why are teams with bad records getting in? Only if most teams have bad records and they just have to put them in. Doesn’t seem likely

I was gonna make a post about SECT seeding, but will piggyback off this thread.

I'm still not convinced Kentucky doesn't lose another 6, 7, or even 8 games.. not yet at least. So SECT seeding is EXTREMELY important this season, and if we can get a bye or two, avoid a tough road, will be key. Still skeptical we can make the tournament in our own right.. but hopefully we can give ourselves a chance in the SECT, with only 1 or 2 tough teams to get by.

16 not going to work without at least 2 big wins Maybe 3. Texas would help but don’t see that happening.

That’s UT mizzou and who else? Bama?

Uh we barely beat 2 of the worst teams in the SEC.......what happens when we play Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas ect........

I am happy we are 2-0 but we really need to start playing a whole lot better if we don't want to be blown out by those teams.

Uk will never be past a 10 . Probably 9 really
The tournament doesn't do that with big programs. You will never see a uk, unc, duke a 12 seed

I just think there will be leeway given this year that wouldn’t be given before. Tourney—as are the bowl games—are about ratings. If they can find an excuse to get bigger name teams having a down year like Uk and Duke in over SE MO ST North I think they will use an usual year as an excuse.

We will see. At this point I don’t expect UK to make it, I’m just saying I won’t be surprised to see some unexpected teams get in this year.

IDK how the SC is going to work, it sucks during a NORMAL year..

But 16 wins should be good enough.. That would mean we only lose 3 games in our SEC slate, 15 wins, and while they aren't exceptional wins, it shows that we're trending very well. I think 16 would work in a COVID season. I imagine a lot of teams are going to have pretty skewed schedules and records.

Think it's more like 15-3. Anyone who doesn't think this team is playing a little better just doesn't want to see it. Im not saying this is a good team, but they do seem to be building more cohesion.

We've seen it in stretches too. First half against Kansas we looked great. Just need all the pieces to fit together

.. but man, I don't see Kentucky only losing 3 SEC games. I'm still thinking 6 to 7 right now. The good news, maybe the BEST news, is that there's not a single "TRUE" Road game left. The opposing fans won't influence the refs too bad and I don't think we'll see those horrible screw jobs we see 2-3 times a year.. I'm also not overly scared of any SEC team at the moment. Tennessee and Arky played virtually no one.. Mizz has some big games on their schedule, but it's a shell of what ours was.

Kentucky will have a good chance against any opponent in the SEC. I wouldn't count them out in any game. Doesn't mean they are ready to deliver yet, though..

Look at the schedules for other SEC teams. Most have played 3-5 Morehead State's. Switch schedules and see what the records are.

We just barely beat two SEC bottom dwellers. I hate to be negative, but I don’t see us beating Missou, TN, Auburn, or even Bama right now. The next 3 games are critical and will tell us a lot (Florida/Bama/Auburn). We could easily win all 3 or lose all 3.

i agree. Outside of Gonzaga, I don’t know many gaudy regular season records we’ll see. Home court seems to be nil and most blue bloods aren’t their usual selves.

We might just have to be .500 record someone mentioned they might allow something like 90 teams in this year, expanding the tournament this year. To the person asking why such a bad record and in cause so many teams are pausing and postponing games so no one is getting a full slate of games.
